DUNES INTERNATIONAL Volume 6, Issue 2 SCHOOL 10th to 14th November 2019 SNEAK PEEK Glimpse of this week As part on Children’s day school is organising Jamboree 2, A Grand Carnival, students of grade 1 wit- nessed the carnival parade practiced by senior grade students. All students performed a flash mob and enjoyed music and movement to make this day a memorable one. Students of Dunes International School participated in the interschool drawing and painting competition held at The Sunrise English private School. The contestant s engrossed their work with an amazing finishing as their imagination run wide and created absolute magic Reminder:  Science weekly test will be conducted on 17-11-19.  PT 2 portion and schedule is uploaded on portal.  Take care of your child’s health, if he/she is not well do not send to school. 1

Children’s Day Children’s day is celebrated across India to increase awareness of the rights, care and educa- tion of children. It is celebrated on 14 November every year as a tribute to India’s first prime minister, Jawarharlal Nehru. Children of Dunes celebrate this day with a great joy. They cele- brate it by coming in different colorful dresses and sharing their food with their friends. Dur- ing children’s day assembly Hazin Enaya of grade 1G is awarded with yellow belt which she achieved during SEP activity Karate training. 2

Subject Science A balanced diet is key to healthy eating habits because it provides chil- dren with the nutrients they need to grow. Such a diet should con- tain three daily healthy eating habits meals and two healthy snacks with foods of the following food groups: protein, carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables, dairy foods, some fat and sugar. Good nutrition is an im- portant part of leading a healthy lifestyle. Com- bined with physical ac- tivity, diet can help chil- dren to reach and main- 6

Subject: Math Learning the meas- urement techniques is a very important aspect for the chil- dren in mathe- matics.it helps them to analyze, com- pare and solve prob- lems related to re- al life. Grade 1 chil- dren measured the length of some ob- jects using some other real life items and also they learned the non- standard measure- ment methods using their body parts. 7

Subject: English The essence of Role Play is that it is a group, co-operative experience.” Role-playing takes place between two or more people, who act out roles to explore a particu- lar scenario. It's most useful to help students prepare for unfamiliar or difficult situations. By acting scenarios students explore how other people are likely to respond to different ap- proaches. They also get a sense of what other people are likely to be thinking and feeling in the situation. By preparing for a situation using role-play, students build up experience and self-confidence with handling the situation in real life, and can develop quick and instinctively correct reac- tions to situations. This means that they'll react effectively as situations evolve, rather than making mistakes or becoming overwhelmed by events. 8

Subject: Music Morning assemblies are a very important part in a student’s life. Students learn actions to go along with the song, which gives a sense of hap- piness and excite- ment to start the day. Singing boosts confidence and dancing keeps one active and fit. 10

Subject: HINDI Students were writing the different types of names according to the given letters and match with correct matra. The students of grade-1 learnt different types of words by writing. Students enjoyed this activity by reading the new words and interaction sharing ideas. This activity to help them to gain self confidence enriched their Hindi vocabulary. 11

They recognized the name of the facility seen in the pic- tures. Students took interest during the engagement for the activity and thus completed the activity enthusiastically. Students discussed about other facil- ities available in their neighborhood.
