Subject: Science A season is a division of the year marked by changes in weather, due to the effect of sunlight ,clouds ,wind and rain. The seasons are marked by changes in the intensity of sunlight that reaches the Earth's surface, variations of which may cause animals to under- go hibernation or to migrate for living creatures. Students of grade 2 exhibited their learning by drawing the different seasons like sum- mer, winter, autumn and spring. They expressed their real-life expe- rience during their journey to different countries also marked their favorite season. 3

Subject: Math Multiplication Wheel makes for a great Math Center or class practice to improve the automaticity needed when it comes to the basic facts of multiplication. The concept of multiplication was explained to the students using multiplication wheel. They were able to multiply and find the answer using the multiplication wheel. The students also spun the wheel and asked questions to other group students. This activity developed the critical thinking skills of the students. 4

Subject: Hindi Language is used to inform others, to ask them to do certain things and to express feelings, moods, ideas, information, ex- periences etc. Language undoubtedly has a very important so- cial purpose because it is mainly used for linguistic communi- cation. To develop the writing and speaking skill in Hindi Grade 2 children find and wrote some sentences for the given picture . By this kind of activity help them to understand and use few words in their daily life . 5

Subject: Arabic Students learnt the im- portance of flag Day. The meaning of red ,green ,white and black colour in the flag etc The students listened and read a story about flag Day and learned about the date of the flag day and the colors of the UAE flag. 6

Dream Catcher Activity Dream Catcher Activity Dream catchers were originally made by North American Indians. he shape of the dreamcatcher is a circle because it represents the circle of life and how forces like the sun and moon travel each day and night across the sky. The dream catcher web catches the bad dreams during the night and dispose of them when the day comes. The feather, for example, is a powerful symbol that signifies honor and a connection be- tween the owner, the Creator, and the bird the feathers came from. It symbolizes trust, hon- or, strength, wisdom, power, and freedom .Students were fully involved in making the model of dream catcher using paper plate,beads,feathers col- our papers,buttons and many other ornamental things. 7

Subject: Authors visit - Pablo Herran The students from grade 3 to 5 had an interac- tive session with the author Pablo Harren and experienced him speaking about his interest in writing books and film making. He spoke about how writing helps him to be more creative and keep away the problems and struggles from life. He made the students understand the im- portance of writing and how they can be hap- py by reading books. The students enjoyed asking him questions about what inspired him to write books and learnt many ways to devel- op a story and be creative while writing a story. He developed the interest in students of writing by giving them few words to form stories. The students enjoyed making short stories and shared their stories with Mr. Pablo. He was happy to hear the creative short stories made by the students. It was overall a unique learn- ing experience for the children with the author. 8

Writer’s Hub Writer’s hub encourages students to visualize and express and present their thoughts and views in written about a specific topic given to them. Mini story writing was the theme of the month of October. The topic was “My memorable trip to the moon” The creative writers are as follows: 1st Position- Adwin Mohamed 2nd Position- Mariyam Rehan K. 3rd Position- Madhav Deepu Nair and Ira Iyer 10

Sandwich Day Activity November 3 is celebrated every year as Sandwich Day. Celebrate Sandwich Day with a delicious sandwich .National Housewife’s Day also sets aside November 3rd to recognize the millions of hard- working housewives. The day honors the stay-at-home moms who take care of the children and the home. .During this occasion grade 2 students brought delicious sandwiches prepared by their mothers and they shared with their friends. 11

Sandwich Recipe Recipe by Mother of Zunaira Mahboob—Grade 2C Rainy Sandwich Ingredients 1/4th cup of boiled peas 1/4th cup of boiled chopped potatoes 1/4th of boiled chopped carrots 1/4th cup of boiled corns 1cup of boiled chopped chicken boneless 2 tbsp butter/oil 2 tbsp of all purpose flour ½ tsp black pepper powder 2tbsp of tomato ketchup 1tbsp of mustard sauce 2tbsp of mayonnaise Salt to taste ½ cup of chopped coriander leaves 1cup of milk Method: Take a pan and heat (medium). Add butter/oil as it becomes hot add flour. Cook till it becomes smooth paste. Then add milk, after 2-3 minutes add peas, corns, potatoes, carrots and chicken, mix properly then add mustard sauce, tomato ketchup, black pepper and salt and mix it properly and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. After that cool the mixture then add mayonnaise and coriander leaves mix it properly. Take a slice of bread spread the mixture properly as much you like, then cover the mixture with other slice of bread. Take a pan, sprinkle some oil/butter then keep the sandwich in the pan roast both the sides till light brown. Serve with ketchup or green chutney. 12
