Through a small skit the students depicted the value of compassion and the need to be compassionate. Measuring weight and capacity plays a very important role in everyday life. Students were asked to find the weight of the given things and capacity of the given liquid. Weighing scale , digital balance , beakers were used by the students to measure the given things. This activity helped the stu- dents to understand the importance of correct measure- ments. Students of grade2 conducted an experiment with an omnicar to demonstrate the three modes of transport – land water and air transport. The experiment requires a an omnicar base,omnicar body ,container with water, sketch pen. When they pulled the car with the help of string ,the car started moving. Then they placed the car in water and pulled the thread attached to the car that resembles water transport and then two students holds the both end of the thread and pull the thread on the left downwards with left hand and right downwards with the right hand -it resembles the movement of ca- ble car. Students enjoyed a lot in conducting the experi- ment. Volume 8, Issue 2 Page 5

An acrostic poem is a poem where certain letters in each line spell out a word or phrase. Typically, the first letters of each line are used to spell the message, but they can appear anywhere. The objective is to increase the student’s knowledge of an acrostic poem. A different style of writing using letters from key words. Teaching them that the author could create words or sentences that started with each letter of the key word related to the theme of spring. This will increase their vocabulary and writing abilities. Students of grade 2 created an acrostic poem on the topic “sunshine”. Students Volume 8, Issue 2 Page 6

Four Language Skills plays a vital role in our daily life. To acquire good communication, command on four language skills is important. Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. It has a strong positive relation be- tween the four skills and stated that none of these is complete without the other. Effective communica- tion is acquired after learning these skills well. To Enhance these four skills Grade 2 students practiced these skills. Volume 8, Issue 2 Page 7

Reading helps to improve vocabulary ,spelling and communication both written and spoken. To enhance this skill,the students of grade 2 had a reading competition wherein the students were asked to read the sentences written on the board. This activity helped the students to develop their self confidence in reading Arabic. Page 8 Sneak Peek

Dance is more than the exploring of different ways to make a shape or learning a series of steps to music; it is a way of moving that uses the body as an instrument of expression and communication. Students of grade 2 learned freestyle dance in their music and movement period. Through dance, students learn teamwork, focus, and improvisational skills. Page 9 Sneak Peek

Artistic activities helps the children learn other subjects such as reading and math.. Students were taught to draw different facial expressions. They learned that most facial expres- sions can be easily made by changing the size, shape, and relationship of eyes, nose, and mouth and other parts of the face such as eyelids and eyebrows. Students enjoyed this activity as it helped to promote their visual, motor and social development. Page 10 Sneak Peek

Library plays a very healthy role throughout a student’s life. Library provides stu- dents a very healthy environment for learning as well as making notes or completing an assignment. Library provides a very calm and disciplined atmosphere which helps students to main- tain a good concentration on their learning. Students of grade 2 were provided with access to a rich book for guided reading- promoting greater amount of reading. Increased reading frequency with more diverse experience among students will help them to attain a greater level of reading achieve- ment. Pag Sneak Peek

Football is one of the popular games played around the world. Students of grade 2 were given football training in their physical edu- cation period. This training helped the stu- dents learn the rules and regulations of the game. Students enthusiastically participated in this. Page 12 Sneak Peek
