KUDA KEPANG DANCE The next one is Kenong. It is also an idiophone Kenong instrument that came from Jawa, Indonesia. Physically, the shapes of kenong same as the gong but more thin and round than gong. Kenong is tied on a hard wood to produce a melodious tone when it is knocked. It must be knocked once for each of the notes using the knockerthat consists of wood and wrapped rope on the top part of the knocker. The reason why it must be knocked once for each notes is because to produce softer sound. Gendang Jawa Then, Gendang Jawa (Figure 6). Gendang Jawa is specialized for Kuda Kepang performance which literally has different shape and pattern from other instrument. It has longitude shape with 3 feets length and different sizes of surfaces. The surfaces are covered with cow or goat skin and the frame was made of wood.
