News at a Glance • Dr Priyanka Sharma, Dr Ankit Thakkar, and Dr Sudeep Tanwar have been recognized as “Rosalind Member of London Journal press” June 29, 2020 • Seven final year students bagged pre-placement offers (PPOs) from Amazon with the CTC of INR 30.00 LPA, and fifteen students of the final year received offers from Oracle with the CTC of INR 11.00 LPA. • One of the edited text-books of Dr Sudeep Tanwar titled \"Multimedia Big Data Computing for IoT Applications: Concepts, Paradigms, and Solutions” published in Springer Nature in 2019 has 3.7 million downloads as on September 17, 2020.

Outreach of CSE Dr Sudeep Tanwar along with one of the UG CSE student (Mr. Mohil Mahesh Kumar Patel, 17BCE062) successfully contributed to a research project sanctioned under Lancaster University, Lancaster, UK, GCRF Internal SEED CORN Fund. For the same, they have received USD 1093 as a consultancy charge from the LANCASTER UNIVERSITY, UK. Projects submitted for external funding: 1. • Association of MCA students (AMS) has successfully organized an event \"VoQaZle\" on August 25, 2020 through virtual mode. VoQaZle was an online quiz competition consisting of Vocabulary, Quantitative Aptitude and Puzzle. The event was conducted on \"ClassMarker\" platform. Total 75 students participated and availed the benefit. • M.Tech. two week orientation program was scheduled from September 28 to October 12, 2020 • As a part of “Research Wave” - A week dedicated to boost Research aptitude in students on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee year of the institute, a one hour expert talk was organized on the topic “Research Opportunities in Machine Learning & Data Science\" on September 28 , 2020 by Dr Sangwon Yoon from SUNY Binghamton University, NewYork – US

Freshman’s Accomplishments Vishakha Unmesh Jambekar,(19MCEI02) has published a chapter on “Security and Privacy issues in Fog Computing for Healthcare 4.0” of book Fog Computing for healthcare 4.0 Environments in August 3, 2020. Pranav Gajjar, (18BCE064) has achieved Hall of Fame in United Nations (multiple clickjacking vulnerability), University of Victoria Canada (account takeover vulnerability), appreciation letter from Avans Hogeschool Netherlands (cross site scripting vulnerability) and mail acknowledgement from NCIIPC (National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre), University of Melbourne Australia (directory listing, sensitive file leakage and clickjacking vulnerabilities) for bug bounty hunting and reporting critical vulnerabilities in their websites on June 27, 2020. Patel Keyur Jayesh (17BCE080),Het Shah (17BIT103), and Karan Shital Sheth (17BIT105) under the mentorship of Dr Sudeep Tanwar have published a research article entitled “A taxonomy of AI Techniques for 6G Communication Networks” in Elsevier Computer Communication Journal (IF: 2.81, SCI) on July 27, 2020. Aditya Shrivastava (17bit014) ,Aksha Thakkar (17bit003) and Prof. Vipul chudasama have presented a paper titled “An Online Planning Agent to Optimize the Policy of Resources Management” in Second International Conference on “Computing , Communications and Cyber security” held during October 3-4, 2020. Vedant Parekh, (18BCE144) has completed the Quantum Qiskit challenge organized by IBM Quantum which was a national level competition in India. It is held between August 1-15, 2020. He is awarded two certificates from IBM Quantum. He had a rank of 85 in TEAM Completing Variational Quantum Classifier algorithm.

Condolence Message Prof. Rasendu Mishra (1980-2020) With great grief and heavy heart, we inform the untimely demise of our beloved Prof. Rasendu Mishra. He left for the heavenly abode on September 05, 2020. Our sincerest and deepest condolences to the sorrowing family.
