120. ORIGINAL PAINTING BY PRESIDENT CARTER Here is your chance to own one of President Carter’s original works of art. “Great Egret” combines two of President Carter’s hobbies, bird watching and painting. It shows the long-legged bird with its white feathers, yellowish-orange beak, and s-curved neck, standing in water as it does when hunting. The oil-on-canvas work is 24 by 18 inches and was created in April 2012. “Wood Duck” is also an oil-on-canvas work. President Carter does a great job of capturing the color and markings of the bird, which indicate that this is the male of the species. Painted in June 2013, the piece is 24 by 18 inches. In “Mountain Still Life” we see the product of a practice session set up by President Carter during some free time in his mountain home. The painting shows several house- hold items arranged atop a table that is covered with a yellow-and-red striped tablecloth. The 16- by 12-inch painting was done using acrylic paints with a wood panel as the canvas.
