Values expressed in this catalog represent certified appraisals, estimates based on sales of comparable items at previous auctions, or sales of similar items from internet sites such as eBay. Any amount paid above the stated value will be considered a donation to The Carter Center and will be tax deductible. Please read carefully the conditions for travel packages and other restrictions. If a remote bidder desires proxy representation by Carter Center staff for the live auction, those arrangements need to be made with Dianne Bryant by 5 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on June 18, 2022. Shipping costs will be added to items that need to be shipped. 1. “JIMMY CARTER: ROCK & ROLL PRESIDENT” POSTER The impact of music in the life of Jimmy Carter is commemorated by these two items! First is a 24- by 36-inch poster from the 2020 docu- mentary “Jimmy Carter: Rock & Roll President” by Mary Wharton and Bill Flanagan. It shows an image of Carter and the Charlie Daniels Band onstage in front of a huge crowd. The collectible is mounted on foam core and ready to be framed. With the poster is another photograph of Carter onstage with longtime friend Willie Nelson (one of the artists in the documentary) and Mickey Raphael at a concert on July 27, 2008, in Atlanta, Georgia. Carter joined the band to play harmonica on their rendition of “Georgia on My Mind.” The photograph is signed by Carter, Nelson, and Raphael and is presented in a frame that measures 15¾ by 13½ inches. You can celebrate his legacy with this copy of the 1979 edition of October magazine. The cover is signed by President Carter and shows a photograph of Carter shaking hands with Sadat. This edition of the yearly magazine contains photographs chronicling Carter and Sadat’s joint visits to Jerusalem, Cairo, and Washington. The magazine is presented in a 17½- by 20¾-inch frame. 5. APOLLO 11 MEMORABILIA The Apollo 11 space mission is cele- brated here with five images presented together in an elaborate 38- by 26-inch frame. In the center is a page from a special edition of Look magazine published in 1969. It features an inscription and signatures from each of the three Apollo 11 crew members. The other photographs show Buzz Aldrin and the American flag on the surface of the moon, a view of Earth from space taken by Michael Collins, President Richard Nixon visiting the crew while they were being quarantined, and President Carter with Aldrin, Armstrong, and Collins in the rose garden at the White House on the 10th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission. These also appear on the shoulders, hem, and ends of the sleeves of the matching sheer jacket. The size 6-8 dress is 54 inches long, and the jacket is 28 inches long. Accompanying the outfit is a pair of long white cotton gloves worn in the White House by Mrs. Carter while she was first lady. You’ll also receive issue 52 of “White House History Quarterly,” the journal of the White House Historical Association. Titled “Mid-Century Fashion and the First Ladies: From Ready-to-Wear to Haute Couture,” the quarterly includes articles and photographs focusing on the fashion of first ladies from the 1930s to the 1970s. 10. HAND-COLORED FINE ART PRINTS Select one of two original hand-colored digital prints created by artist Elizabeth Ginsberg. Each is signed by the artist, numbered, and presented in a wood frame, and each comes with copies of her books, “Pattern & Place: Works on Paper” and “Reflections: A Survey of Prints,” which also bear her signature. The print has “6/6 Primavera 9” and “Elizabeth Ginsberg 2013” at the bottom and is presented in a 28½- by 20¾-inch dark wood frame. 2. A caterpillar climbs a flower’s stem and a butterfly sits on the petals in “Flora 8.” The print is housed in a light-colored wood frame that measures 17 by 21 inches. GUINEA WORM COLLECTION As the world approaches the eradication of Guinea worm disease thanks to the efforts of Pesident Carter and The Carter Center, here is your chance to collect items used to fight the scourge. Filtering water where Guinea worm larvae may be present prior to drinking it is an essential part of the campaign to eradicate the disease. The images on this shirt show how to use the cloth filter included in this collection to do that. Drinking through a pipe filter, also offered here, achieves the same result. Scenes from the fight against Guinea worm appear on the three 14- by 19-inch posters, the postage stamps, and the first day of issue cover also included. The stamps and cover are mounted in a 15½- by 12-inch frame along with information from the Nigerian Philatelic Service. It is a black-and-white sketch of a woman with two smaller copies below of the same image, one in tan and the other in light blue. The drawings overlap so that the woman in the largest one appears to be protecting the smaller ones with her arm. In addition to the artwork you will receive two “talent” badges with lanyards and a copy of the official tribute journal and program from the Musicares 2015 Person of the Year event honoring Dylan, dated February 6, 2015. 15. “ODE TO PEACE” STAMP COLLECTION AND SCARF A colorful presentation folder holds a sheet of 16 stamps from the first issue of a series that commem- orates the 60th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC). The stamp features “Ode to Peace,” an artwork created by a group of Chinese painters for the 1955 World Peace Congress. A second folder has two postal covers with the stamp affixed to them. One is a first day of issue cover and has the postmark date 2014.5.3. The second has the CPAFFC’s logo on it. Both folders are 11 by 8½ inches. Bush recounting the events of September 11 and declaring a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance three days later.
