Eraser Tool The Eraser Tool is used to erase any part of the drawing. You can use this tool by clicking and dragging the mouse pointer over the area you wish to erase. Color Picker Tool The Color Picker Tool helps us to pick a color from one part of the figure and fill the same color in the other part of the drawing. Selection and Editing Technique In Paint, you might want to make changes to a part of a picture or an object. To do this, you need to select the part of the picture that you want to change, and then edit it. You can edit as resizing an object, moving or copying an object, rotating it, or cropping the picture to only show the selected item. But you can not change the size and medium of stroke and Fill medium. For selecting the object, do the following: Steps to Follow: Step-1 : In the Home tab, in the Image group, click the down arrow under Select. Step-2 : Do one of the followings, depending on what you want to select: • To select any square or rectangular part of the picture, click Rectangular selection, and then drag the pointer to select the part of the picture you want to work with. • To select any irregularly shaped part of the picture, click Free-form selection, and then drag the pointer to select the part of the picture you want to work with. • To select the whole picture, click Select all. • To select everything in the picture except for the currently selected area, click Invert selection. • To delete the selected object, click Delete. Resizing a whole picture or part of picture Use Resizetool of Image group to resize the whole image or to resize part of image. You can also skew an object in the picture so that it appears slanted. Step-2 : In the Resize and Skew dialog box, select the Main- tain aspect ratio check box so that the resized picture will have the same aspect ratio as the original. Outline The outline feature is used to set the medium for outline of shape in the basis of selection of color from Color 1 group. There are different option under the outline option drop down menu. Saving and using your picture When editing in Paint, you should save your work frequently so that you don't accidentally lose it. After you save your picture, you can use it on your computer. Save a picture for the first time When you save a new picture for the first time, you'll need to give a file name. To do this, follow the following steps: Steps to follow: Step-1 : Click the File menu tab, and then click Save option. Step-2 : Find the disk and folder (location) Step-3 : In the File name box, type a name, and click Save. Step-4 : In the Save as type box, select the file format you want. Open a Saved Drawing Page Instead of starting a new drawing, you might 89 want to open an existing drawing and edit in Paint. Steps to Follow: Step-1 : Click the File menu tab, and then click Open. Step-2 : Find the drawing that you want to open, click it, and then click Open. Fast Access Ctrl+O is to be pressed to open new existing picture. Set Picture as the Desktop Background You can also set the picture as the desktop background. To set the desktop background on your computer, follow the following steps. Steps to Follow: Step-1 : Click the File menu tab, and then click Save. Step-2 : Click the 'Set as desktop background' . Smart Computer Science Book-4
Undo The Undo command allows you to undo the last action. It removes the last change you made to the work. While drawing a picture, if you make mistake, you can undo it. Follow the following steps: Steps to Follow: Step-1 : Click the Undo button from the title bar of the Paint Window. Step 2 : Repeat Step-1 until you reach in desire position. Fast Access Ctrl+Z is pressed to Undo the last action. Redo Redo is a function that recalls the function of Undo again. For example, if you delete drawing and perform an undo, then decided that you want deleted again, you could do a redo. Steps to Follow: Step-1 : Click the Redo button from the title bar.
