7th Grade 1st Nine Weeks - 2020

con·sid·er·ate /kənˈsidərət/ Adjective adjective: considerate 1. careful not to cause inconvenience or hurt to others.

Noah 7th grade Aviles ELAR Mrs. Koepke

I have nominated Noah this nine weeks for his consideration and helpfulness. Noah joins class from home each day, and this nine weeks, though I thought I was prepared, was a tough one. Technology was a constant issue the first weeks of school. After that evened out, it was time to figure out how to manage in person and online learners at the same time. Noah had some really great ideas from the perspective of the kids at home and what they needed. He suggested a virtual binder for the work that had been posted which I shared with all my students in all classes. He was able to be my technology help desk when things weren't working properly and was always able to fix the issue. Most exciting, was his proposal to create a class website for me using Google Sites. I collaborated with him and one other student on what it needed to look like and how it would function. I am quite thankful for Noah and all he has offered this nine weeks.

hon·es·ty /ˈänəstē/ Noun noun: honesty 1. 1. the quality of being honest.

at·ti·tude /ˈadəˌt(y)o͞ od/ Noun noun: attitude; plural noun: attitudes 1. a settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person's behavior.

Sophia FACS Secor Mrs. Abshire

I am so excited to nominate Sophia for a Charger Award this 9 weeks. Since the school year has started I have been so impressed with this young woman and her attitude towards school. She is an E learner and new to BISD. When we were doing Goal Setting in class she shared that her main goal for the year was to make new friends and not let the fact that she was E Learner hold her back. She is always smiling during class time, interactive with her peers, participates in class discussions and is a joy to have in class. She has recently announced to all of us that she will be transitioning to In person learning and we are all really excited to meet her in person. Her positive attitude is infectious and she has tenacious spirit! Way to go Sophia :)

Linus Wellness Evans Mrs. Briggs

I am pleased to nominate Linus Evans for Outstanding Charger Award for the 1st Nine Weeks for the attribute of Attitude. Linus is polite and respectful to his teachers as well as his peers. He is always willing to help someone as we learn this new way of doing digital school. I couldn't wish for a better attitude from him. Thank you, Linus.

Grace 7th grade Marino Physical Education Coach Carter

I am excited to choose Grace Marino for the Outstanding CHARGER Award for Attitude. Grace is just an all-around awesome kid with a positive attitude. Grace works hard every single class period, and perseveres through tough activities and does not give up. She puts forth her best effort and stays focused. Grace is an amazing student to have in my class and a great example to her peers. Thank you, Grace, for always coming to class with a positive attitude.

Danielle 7th grade Tejeda Math Mr. Dreyer

Danielle I nominated you for the outstanding charges award for your positive attitude. You always come in with a smile on your face and ready to work. Even when things are difficult you stay positive and ask for help. It is a great pleasure to be your teacher, and see your hard work paying off.

Janeth Robotics Gonzalez Mrs. Marshall

Janeth has such a positive attitude when it comes to her school work. We recently started learning to code and she has been doing an amazing job. When she becomes challenged by it, she doesn't stop! She talks it out, comes up with possible solutions, and keeps pressing forward!

Jenna 7th grade Koepke ELAR Mrs. O’Rourke

Tenacity is setting a goal so big you cannot possibly achieve it…then growing into the person who can! Jenna is all of this. She is fiercely determined and creates big, bold goals for herself. What is even better is that she puts the work in to achieve those goals. I appreciate her spirit and grit. I especially appreciate it when she continues to push herself when it is hard. That quality will take her amazing places in and out of the classroom. I’m so excited to have been a part of her journey, and I look forward to watching her soar!

Ana STEM 1 Fernandez Mr. Rae

Ana is an exceptional student. She is the kind of student that teachers got into teaching for. Ana is always going over and above the lesson. She asks questions and goes deeper into the material than she is required. Always on time, always with a great attitude and a wonderful smile. She is quiet and reserved but that belies the fierce attitude of hard work and a intense love of learning. She is a joy to have as a student. My only regret with Ana is that she is an e-learner which adds some constraints to the student teacher dialogue. Look to Ana to do great things. She is fierce, focused and forward in her thinking.

Caleb 7th grade Armstrong College, Career, Military Readiness Coach Reding

I've nominated Caleb to receive the outstanding charger award for the attribute attitude. Caleb always comes to class with a great attitude and makes everyone around him feel good. He's a joy to be around, very funny, and great student. He is also a great classmate to his peer's, always willing to help or put a smile on their face.

Bernardo 7th grade Fernandez Texas History Mrs. Sursa

Bernardo has many of the attributes of an Outstanding Charger, but if I were to choose the one that really stands out, I would say attitude. Bernardo always listens in class and adds to the lesson. He responds to the teacher and others with kindness. He consistently turns in good, quality work, and he lends a helping hand to those in class who need help. He is an Outstanding Charger and an outstanding person!

Hunter 7th grade Griffin Physical Education Coach Fallon

My outstanding student award goes to Hunter Griffin. He is a great role model for his peers and a natural leader. I enjoy watching him give it his “all” in every activity we do in PE. Hunter is polite and respectful to his Coaches and teammates always thanking us with a big smile. Congratulations Hunter it is a pleasure to have you in PE this year and best of luck the rest of the year in all you do.

Anaya 7th grade Staats Science Mrs. Hundley

Anaya Staats is being recognized for the attribute of ‘Responsibility.’ Although she possesses multiple attributes that represent an Outstanding Charger, responsibility is the one flashing in neon lights. Given the interesting challenge of participating in a hybrid class of learners, Anaya has risen to the top, as she’s demonstrated extreme patience and diligence in regard to the learning process. Anaya consistently turns in her assignments on time and takes the initiative to clarify any miscommunication or discrepancy that might arise. She’s very conscientious about her work and is proactive about what she can do to make improvements. I’m extremely proud of the way Anaya presents herself as a young lady and student, and I look forward to see what she accomplishes in the future. Mrs. Hundley, 7th Grade Science.

Sophia 7th grade Richardella Math Mr. Kinsler

Sofia has been an absolute testament to the attribute of responsibility. She consistently works diligently to make sure her work is completed and submitted with a high degree of accuracy. Sofia is always willing to volunteer in front of her peers and really cares about being the best version of herself. She is a delight to have as a student and for that I say, \"Thank you for being you.\"

Ian Digital Arredondo Literacy 2 Mrs. Marshall

I really appreciate how Ian works so hard to get his assignments not only completed, but also to the best of his ability. If there is something he doesn't understand, he makes sure to ask questions so he gains a deeper understanding.

Emma 7th grade Lee Honors Texas History Mr. Ostrum

If ever there were a Charger that represented the attribute of responsibility it would be Emma. Just like the postal service nothing will stop Emma from making her appointed rounds (AKA class work). Neither Doctor appointments, cross country meets or the random illness can stop Emma from always doing the required work and going above and beyond!

Brady Choir Carr Mr. Pineda

Brady enjoys being under the radar! He amazes me. I often wonder if middle school students retain what I say from 5 minutes before, but not Brady! He is a very smart young man. He takes it upon himself to reteach or correct a mistake if he can, or he will find someone to help him correct a misunderstanding. He is an enormous asset to the Men's choir and we are better for having him on our team!
