Welcome Welcome to the new edition of our Consultant Directory. At The Princess Grace Hospital, we pride ourselves on delivering first-class diagnostics and treatment – and on maintaining the highest standards in a wide range of acute and non-acute specialties. Our consultants come from top teaching hospitals and are supported by our highly experienced and professional staff. This multidisciplinary structure ensures our patients receive the best possible care. You will be aware of our extensive robotic surgery programme, and we have recently added to this by acquiring the new MAKO robot for orthopaedic hip and knee surgery. We continue to redevelop and refurbish the hospital, so our patients enjoy the best environment for their treatment. Our private walk-in Urgent Care Centre has recently been expanded and upgraded. It is open 365 days a year from 8.00am to 10.00pm, with instant referrals to our consultants available. Endoscopy CentreThe Endoscopy Centre provides a variety of diagnostic and therapeuticendoscopy services, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopicultrasound, ERCP, bronchoscopy and cystoscopy.The unit has two lead-lined procedure rooms, which enable X-ray guidancefor ERCP and luminal stenting. Imaging Department The Diagnostic Imaging Department is located across three sites and provides a comprehensive range of services to outpatients and inpatients. Our department offers MRI, CT, ultrasound and general imaging services and an Urgent Care Centre. We also have a dedicated interventional suite. Please book this suite through the imaging nursing staff, as specialised teams need to perform these examinations. Prostate Brachytherapy Tel: 020 7908 2273 Breast Assessment Centre Tel: 020 7908 2003/4 Out of hours A radiographer and radiologist are available on-call. Contact the on-call radiologist via the switchboard (020 7486 1234), which holds a copy of the on-call rota. Please direct all CT, ultrasound and MRI on-call requests to the on-call radiologists only. Radiologists work on a sessional basis, and you can book appointments with the appropriate radiologist according to specialty. For interventional or invasive radiological procedural appointments, please contact one of the nursing team.8

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)The ICU has nine beds, providing intensive care for both Level 2 and Level 3patients. The unit is located within a brand new, purpose-built area.The ICU is fully equipped to provide:● 24-hour medical support provided by experienced on-site intensivists and a rota of consultant intensivists● C ardiac output monitoring● C ontinuous physiology monitoring● Invasive and non-invasive ventilation● Near-patient testing, including arterial blood gas analysis and TEG● Renal replacement therapy.We also offer an outreach service, which extends critical care to patientsin general wards who require additional input.Contact 020 7908 2422/2419Nurses’ Station: 9

Institute of Sport Exercise and Health (ISEH) The Institute of Sport Exercise and Health (ISEH) is London’s premier outpatient facility for sport and exercise medicine, and is a major legacy project of the 2012 London Olympic Games. We have a multidisciplinary team of specialists in sport and exercise medicine, sports orthopaedics, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, rheumatology, podiatry and psychology. They are joined by expert MSK radiologists who are available for expert opinion, diagnostics and ongoing management. We also offer specialist MDT clinics for complex concussion management, pre-participation fitness evaluation and elite footballer screening. As a result, your patients receive the highest standard of care across all areas, from diagnostics through to sports injury prevention, injury management and exercise and wellbeing support. The Institute is located in a dedicated, state-of-the-art centre at 170 Tottenham Court Road. On-site facilities include a high-definition 3T MRI scanner, ultrasound, X-ray and a physiotherapy gym. The ISEH is a partnership between University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH), HCA Hospitals, UCL, the English Institute of Sport and the British Olympic Association. TheatresThe Princess Grace Hospital has eight theatres across two locations.This includes three laminar flow theatres, nine recovery bay suites, onededicated robotic theatre and four theatres designed for laser work.Our theatres are equipped with the latest technologies across all surgicalspecialties. Urgent Care Centre London’s Private Emergency Treatment Centre The Urgent Care Centre is based at The Princess Grace Hospital and operates as a walk-in service for private emergency treatment. The Centre is fully staffed by a dedicated team of experienced general practitioners and specialist nurses. We also have a range of leading consultants if referral and/or admission are necessary. Our aim is to assess all patients within 15 minutes of arrival. Thanks to our on-site X-ray and labs, we offer a complete initial assessment of the patient’s problem, covering illnesses and minor injuries such as: ● A cute medical conditions, including breathing difficulties and stomach problems ●  General ear, nose and throat conditions and general aches and pains ● T raumatic injuries, including sprains, fractures, sports injuries, cuts, abrasions and other soft tissue injuries. Business OfficeMedical InsurancePatients must contact their insurance company before they come to hospital,and it is vital they confirm cover before committing themselves to pay fortreatment. The insurer may allocate a claim number and give the patient aclaims form for the consultant to sign. It is important that patients follow theirinsurer’s procedures, and check about any limits or excesses on their policy.Patients must provide full insurance details to hospital registration staff at orbefore treatment. GP Liaison Office The GP Liaison team can arrange for you to tour the hospital, and we can come and see you at your practice. We organise practice meeting presentations to help you keep up to date with the latest services and procedures, and we also offer regular CPR/BLS sessions for clinical staff. In addition, The Princess Grace Hospital holds GP postgraduate seminars and lectures throughout the year. These free, educational seminars take place in London, but we can also conduct them as lunch-and-learn sessions at your practice.
