JUMEIRAH EMIRATES TOWERS DUBAI, UAE This landmark project is located in the rapidly developing financial center of Dubai. The twin towers, featuring a 52-story office tower and a 400-key five-star hotel, rise to a height of 360 meters. Clad in silver aluminum panels and silver and copper reflective glass, the uniquely contemporary forms of these towers has become a symbol of modern Dubai. Flanking each tower at its base are low curvilinear structures, reminiscent of massive shifting sand dunes, housing parking and service elements. The towers rise from a terraced podium featuring a boutique retail mall, restaurants, and cafes. Landscaping is an integral feature of the design with undulating land forms, water features, and a variety of plants creating a unique development in downtown Dubai.12

EMIRATES NBD HEADQUARTERS 10 DUBAI, UAE Selected as the winning entry for an international design competition, this prestigious project is located beside Dubai’s historic creek. The 16-storey headquarters of the National Bank of Dubai includes office accommodation, branch office space and banking facilities, complete with underground staff parking. The unique design, clad in gold glass and grey granite, suggests the sweeping sail and curved hull of a sailing dhow, symbolic of the trading tradition of Dubai and a trademark for the bank.9

SHANGRI-LA HOTEL DUBAI, UAE Located in Downtown Dubai, the 45-storey Shangri-La, rising to a height of 192 meters, provides luxurious hotel and residential units over 45 floors. Articulated with a strong vertical rhythm of granite and glass, the exterior of the twin towers harkens back to the early twentieth century American skyscraper. A dramatic four-storey high lobby features elegant restaurants and a business centre. The project includes an exclusive health club, two banquet halls and parking facilities for 450 cars.15 16

BURJ KHALIFA DUBAI, UAE At 823 meters, the much-heralded Burj Khalifa is by far the tallest building in the world. NORR was responsible for the construction administration related to the architectural and design coordination aspects of the project during construction. For this landmark project, we supervised the execution of the Burj Khalifa tower in compliance with SOM’s design intent and contract documents previously approved by Emaar. Our responsibilities included the coordination of architecture with engineering design by other consultants and contractors, quality control, reviewing mockups, samples, shop drawings and manufacturers’ data. During construction, we advised Emaar and others on issues related to construction methods required to solve complex problems on site.19 20

AL FATTAN MARINE TOWERS DUBAI, UAE Located within the Dubai Marina, this residential development consists of 52-storey twin towers that rise dramatically from a 2-storey retail podium. These ephemeral glass and aluminum clad towers, 246 meters in height, anchor the development along this popular ocean front. The massing for each tower is articulated as three distinct elements - ocean-facing curved wings containing apartments and a curved clear glass element featuring vertically stacked atria that provide residents with shared communal spaces within the towers.23 24

MEDIA CITY OFFICE BUILDINGS DUBAI, UAE Located prominently within the Dubai Media City business park, these three low-rise office buildings were designed and constructed in a record 12 months. Fronting onto a man-made lake, the high-tech look of these aluminum and glass buildings reflects the image of this ambitious new technology park. The typical floor design for these office buildings features a centralized core within a 2,000 square meter footprint, maximizing efficiency and flexibility for tenants.27 28

EMAAR BUSINESS PARK 30 DUBAI, UAE Located at the centre of Dubai’s business environment, the Emaar Business Park is ideally connected to the Sheikh Zayed Road, a major vehicular artery within the city, and is surrounded by stunning views of the Emirates Golf Club. Our design for these four commercial buildings establishes a distinctive corporate image for this office park. The buildings are designed to Class A office specifications and allow flexibility in tenant use. On-grade and multi-storey parking provides convenient tenant and visitor access to the development. The project features shared amenities including restaurants, cafes, and financial services.29

MARINA TERRACE DUBAI, UAE This dramatic 36-storey residential tower is located on a prominent site within the Dubai Marina. Semi-circular in plan, this glass-clad tower is designed with marina facing apartments wrapped around a central core. Located on each floor is a glazed lobby with dramatic views to the ocean. The development features a terraced podium with retail facing onto a public plaza and marina.31 32

MARINA TOWER 34 DUBAI, UAE This 30-storey residential tower rises from a retail and parking podium. The project’s frontage onto the marina is of vital importance to the scheme. The rectangular-shape of the tower, featuring cantilevered corner balconies, is designed to maximize unobstructed water views for its residents. The podium consists of 6 levels of parking with a leisure deck and health club at its roof level. The exterior of both tower and podium are clad in beige colored precast concrete and granite panels, blue-tinted glass and a selective use of silver aluminum panels. Dramatic night lighting, designed to accentuate the verticality of the exterior, highlights this tower in its context.33

ADDRESS BOULEVARD HOTEL DUBAI, UAE The Address Boulevard hotel is situated in the heart of Downtown, opposite Dubai Mall, and in close proximity to the Burj Khalifa. The 70-storey tower contains a 200-key 5-star hotel, 523 serviced apartments and complete floors for VIP clientele within the Sky Collection. Crowned with a signature rooftop lounge and restaurant, the hotel also contains a host of facilities, including a ballroom, meeting suite, spa, retail, restaurants, bars, lounges and a triple tiered pool deck.35 36

VIDA RESIDENCE DUBAI, UAE The Vida Residence offers a unique opportunity for urban living. The distinctive geometry of this 60-storey tower responds to dramatic views of the Burj Khalifa and The Fountain. The exterior design of this tower is a contemporary interpretation of the art deco era of the early 20th century. Dramatically vertical in massing and line, the minimalist detailing in stone and glass will make this tower an elegant addition to the Dubai skyline.39

VIDA ZA’ABEEL DUBAI, UAE Vida Za’abeel, located in close proximity to attractions such as the Za’abeel Park and the iconic Burj Khalifa, comprises of two residential towers, 70 and 68 stories, plus a 220 key 4-star Vida hotel. The design of the two towers that provide 1,718 branded residential apartments is an inspired response to vertical living – a dramatic scheme that combines landscaped terraces in the podium and towers with the sheer verticality of the towers themselves. The positioning of forms and the overall massing of the project maximizes uninterrupted views for its residents. Sports and leisure facilities such as gyms, multi-purpose halls and indoor kids play areas, open out to cascading landscaped terraces on the podium with gardens, water bodies and pools. Construction is expected to commence in May 2018.43 44

ADDRESS SKYVIEW RESIDENCES DUBAI, UAE Situated on a prominent site in Downtown Dubai, this 61-storey twin tower development features a dramatic bridge. A pool deck, luxury apartments, spa and an open air bar provide spectacular views to Burj Khalifa to the east and the coastline to the west. Currently under construction, the towers include a 5-star hotel, 540 serviced apartments.47 48

CREEK GATE TOWERS 52 DUBAI CREEK HARBOR, UAE Located within Dubai Creek Harbor, Creek Gate Towers offers residents a unique opportunity for urban living. In keeping with its prime location in the centre of town the building has been designed to maximise views to The Tower and Burj Khalifa, with direct access to the downtown boulevard. Our design approach for the two tower development is simple while lending a bold expression to the central boulevard. A range of unit types have been developed for this site, along with amenities including retail and F&B areas, a roof garden with pools and a leisure deck that offers views to the central park.51

DOWNTOWN VIEWS II DUBAI, UAE Located on a prime site in Downtown Dubai, this residential development provides unobstructed views of the Burj Khalifa and The Tower in Dubai Creek Harbor, as well as direct pedestrian connectivity to the Dubai Mall. Featuring three towers at 63 storeys, 58 storeys and 51 storeys, the development provides a total of 1,463 residential units. Rising from a common four storey podium comprising of lobby lounges, retail offerings and parking facilities, each of the towers accomodate a landscaped observation deck at the rooftop level offering panaromic views to its residents.57 58

THE ONE - JUMEIRAH VILLAGE CIRCLE DUBAI, UAE Our concept for this 40-storey tower, while economical in form and structure, is an elegant addition to the Dubai skyline. Restrained in massing, the sculpting of the extruded tower volume is a direct response to programmatic requirements. Landscape terraces, introduced at key locations throughout the height of the tower, facilitate interaction between indoor and outdoor functions.59 60

THE ONE - JUMEIRAH VILLAGE TRIANGLE 64 DUBAI, UAE Conceived as two sculptural masses connected by a vertical glass atrium, this 4-star hotel incorporates courts and gardens, that provide landscaped communal spaces for the residents. The 34-storey development features 585 hotel keys with parking for 200 cars. A speciality restaurant located at the top allows for dramatic views of the ocean and Burj Khalifa. Shared amenities include an executive lounge, health club, gym and pool..63

HOTEL INDIGO DUBAI, UAE Located in Business Bay, this 4-star hotel sits on a prime location, facing the creek to the south and offering dramatic views of Burj Khalifa to the west. This 20-storey tower features an undulating glass and metal exterior that playfully communicates the repetitive and capsular nature of this building. The hotel provides 240 keys and associated amenities.67

SOFITEL HOTEL AND APARTMENTS DUBAI, UAE The design of this 4-star hotel is influenced by the gentle sweeping arc of the Burj Khalifa Boulevard. This 26-storey glass-clad structure houses 266 hotel rooms and 74 serviced apartments. Amenities include restaurants, gym, a pool deck, conference centre and sports bar. A landscaped rooftop terrace and restaurant enjoy dramatic views of Downtown Dubai.69 70

HOTEL APARTMENTS, PALM JUMEIRAH DUBAI, UAE Inspired by the natural forms of the desert as it meets the sea, the curvilinear shape of this oceanfront property maximizes ocean views for its residents. A sculpture in metal and glass, this luxury development provides 94 serviced apartments. Amenities include a rooftop pool, specialty restaurant, gym and spa.71 72

GMG HEADQUARTERSDUBAI, UAEGulf Marketing Group is one of the most successful LE ROYAL MERIDIENand influential business groups in the Gulf region.Within their Headquarters building, our layout of the ABU DHABI, UAEexecutive floors provides order and symmetryaccentuated by the use of materials, color and light.Illumination is achieved through reflection from mirror,glass and stone. This landmark five-star hotel, overlooking the Arabian Gulf, features a revolving restaurant that crowns the hotel. A spectacular panoramic ocean view is a feature for the majority of hotel rooms. Our role on this project commenced during early construction. The project underwent extensive re-design during this time, converting a previous residential design to hotel use. Other design adjustments included the addition of several floors, the complete re- design of the structural, mechanical and electrical systems, and the addition of granite cladding to the exterior.75 76

RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT, AL RAHA BEACH TWOFOUR54 HEADQUARTERS ABU DHABI, UAE ABU DHABI, UAE This unique design celebrates the waterfront location of this development within the Al Raha Beach Precinct. Our concept takes advantage of both natural and manmade elements: the sea, views to the horizon, connection to the adjacent boardwalk and canals. ZAYED BAY MASTERPLAN 80ABU DHABI, UAEThis waterfront development, located adjacent to the MaqtaBridge entrance into Abu Dhabi island, provides class A officespace, a 5-star hotel, exclusive residential apartments, andprime retail uses along a promenade setting. Thedevelopment’s planning and massing strategy is a response tothe water’s edge – our scheme integrates open landscapedspaces and carefully placed buildings to allow pedestrian andvisual connection to the bay.A marina provides docking facilities for day visitors, yachts andships, as well as providing a connection between the mainlandand the island. Abstract architectural forms reinforce the notionof a wall and beacon as organizing elements within thelandscape.79

ABU DHABI SCIENCE CENTRE ABU DHABI, UAE The design of the project was driven by an appreciation of operational requirements with the efficient grouping and communication of four key elements: administration, circulation, gallery space and engineering. Placed on a linear site, these building blocks have been articulated as a series of sliding masses flanking the Welcome Hall. An expressed geometric-sphere adjacent to the main entrance completes the overall massing of this project.83 84
