Chief and Deputy Academic Officer Updates Action Items ● No action items at this time Informational Items ● Elementary Huddle Notes ● Secondary Huddle Notes Student Transfer Update The community student transfer request window was open from Jan 6-Jan 31. If you receive questions from students/parents, please know: ● Student transfer approvals/denials will be sent out via email by the first Friday in March. ● The elementary campuses that were open for community requests (based on projected capacity) were Science Hall, Buda, Blanco Vista, Carpenter Hill, Hemphill and Fuentes (Fine Arts requests). ● There were no middle schools open for community requests. We do grant middle school program transfers as needed (example: Mariachi or dual language from elementary) ● For high schools (and WMS), the only students eligible for transfer approvals are those who have an older sibling on an approved transfer due to rezoning/opening of JHS. ● After this year, there will be no more high school sibling rezoning transfer requests accepted. Moving forward, all students not on an existing transfer must attend their zoned campus. ● Program transfers exist for a student participating in a program not offered at their zoned campus. ● Hays CISD does not accept out of district transfer requests. ● Once a student receives a transfer approval, that transfer remains in effect until the highest grade offered at that campus. The employee student transfer request window was open from Jan 6-Jan 31. Employees will also receive an approval/denial letter by the first Friday in March.Only those who live out of district must apply annually. Sandra Dowdy, Michael O’Guin, Jennifer Garcia, Jesus Gomez, Sami Kinsey
