For focused searching, useSearchLight which is an important tool that allows searching across the vast majority of subscribedelectronic resources such as databases, ebooks and journal articles via a single search box.OPENATHENSBrowZine and direct access to publisher platform is via the OpenAthens authentication service. OpenAthensenables DST Group staff to access a majority of the subscribed electronic resources including databases,electronic journals and ebooks using a single username and password. BrowZine — QUICK REFERENCE GUIDESTEP 1 : BROWZINE WEB ACCESS From your home computer or WISE terminal, go to www.browzine.com – as you need to access your personal email account, such as gmail, hotmail, bigpond. Once set up is complete you can access your account from the PRN desktop. BrowZine also comes in an app form for your mobile device. Download it like any other app such as for Apple products available from the App store and for Androids from Google Play.STEP 2 : CHOOSE LIBRARY – DST GROUP Simply click on ‘Choose my Library’ and either scroll down the alphabetical list of libraries or search for DST Group. Have your OpenAthens login details at the ready!STEP 3 : CREATE A BROWZINE ACCOUNT – SIGN UP The final step is to Sign Up for a personal ‘My Bookshelf’ account. This will enable you to save particular journal titles to your bookshelf for future reference. Once you have entered your details to sign up, an activation email will be set to your chosen email account for your registration to be finalised. Confirm your email address. Personal email account to be used to sign up so that it is possible to synchronise between the web platform and your mobile device.

BrowZine — QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE Click on any of the subject titles listed on the left side of the screen. Journals are classified into aBROWSE FOR JOURNALS three tiered subject taxonomy.SEARCH FOR JOURNALS Select a journal title image on the right hand side. The most recent issue will be presented,ADD JOURNALS TO ‘MY BOOKSHELF’ outlining the table of contents and most current available year issues. Select the title of the article you wish to read. BrowZine will link to the full text article depending on the publisher. The usual pdf functions are available such as save and print. It is possible to search by journal title, keyword, subject title or journal ISSN. A result list will appear and from there select your specific journal. In any result list, there can be both journals with the title keywords in the title indicated by the blue journal and a subject category for the keywords indicated by the red filing cabinet. Within a specific journal simply click on ‘Add to My Bookshelf’ to populate your ‘My Bookshelf’ with relevant journals. You will be notified when the publication has been added.

BrowZine — QUICK REFERENCE GUIDECUSTOMISE ‘MY BOOKSHELF’ It is possible to customise ‘My Bookshelf’ by renaming the bookcases to specific topic areas. Simply click on the pencil icon as you hover over the title and change the name. Within the shelves of the individual bookcase, it is possible to rename each shelf. Simply click on the pencil icon as you hover over the title and change the name. Bookcases have a maximum of 4 journal titles per shelf. Titles can easily be moved between shelves and bookcases, hover on a title and click move. Grey blocks will appear highlighting the shelves available.PREVIOUS VOLUMES, ISSUES AND YEARS To access previous issues of a particular journal - click on ‘Change Year’ on the left hand toolbar. The publication years available via BrowZine for a particular journal will expand. Currently BrowZine have access up to 2005 back issues. Journal titles that are available prior to 2005 will have the option to ‘view all back issues and sources for this title’, displayed under the publication years. Any back issues will be available from this function.SYNCHRONISATION BETWEEN WEB & MOBILEIt is possible to sync BrowZine between multiple devices such as web and mobile devices. Only one account isrequired to be created via the ‘Sign Up’ function under ‘My Bookshelf’.Your personalised ‘My Bookshelf’ will be replicated on both platforms with the same bookcases and saved journaltitles, including unread notifications.Registration of multiple devices with your personal email account is required. Synchronisation will occur from yourweb account to your mobile device.
