Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Ganeshnagar Std: VII Subject Integration Project Theme – Currency Term 1 2021-2022

Subject – English Project segregation in two parts: Total Marks 10 1. Vocabulary Building [6m] a. Wordle How to present?  List down 20 vocabulary words related to ‘Currency’.  Use synonyms, compound words, collocations etc. related to currency.  Examples: Exchange, Demonetization, Dollars.  Wordle example is given below. b. Idiom Cards How to present?  Identify a currency related idiom.  Tabulate it in following format- Meaning of the Idiom Idiom on Currency Framing sentence using the Idiom c. Acrostic Poem How to present?  Create an acrostic poem using any one vocabulary word listed in the wordle.  Students can support it by drawing picture snippets along the shape of the poem.

 Example of an acrostic poem 2. Note Features [4m] How to present?  Observe a 50 Rupee note and write down any 4 features along with its meaning or utility (as applicable).  Students to use List- Group- Label technique to write down, you can support it with drawings wherever necessary. Guidelines – 1. Date of Submission – 30th August, 2021. 2. Students have to complete the project using word document and upload their work on GCR. 3. Students can use colours, fonts variations to highlight important points. 4. Students must stick to the date of submission. Those who fail to submit their work on time, will be marked ‘0’. 5. Rubric includes following parameters for mark calculation: - Neat and tidy work - Timely submission - In proper format - Creative work - Relevance to the topic

बवषर् : मराठी उपक्रम : अनुभव ले खन शाळे च्या “coin for country” र्ा उपक्रमात सवण मुलांिनी, ती इर्त्ता ५ वी मध्ये असताना भाग घेतला होता. मुलािंिे त्यावेळिे अनुभव मुलांिनी बलहार्िे आहेत. त्यासाठी मुद्दे १ शाळे तील ििाण - नक्की कार् व कसे करार्िे आहे ? - र्ा उपक्रमािा उद्देश कार् आहे? २ उपक्रमातील माझे र्ोगदान - मी कार् कार् तर्ारी के ली व उपक्रम किी सुरू के ला ? - मी कोर्कोर्ती कामे के ली व मला त्यािा कार् मो दला बमळाला ? ३ िमा झाले ल् र्ा रकमेिा बवबनर्ोग - माझ्याकडे असले ल् र्ा रकमेिे मी कार् के ले ? - शाळे त िमा के ले ल् र्ा रकमेिे कार् के ले ? Subject – Maths Project instructions: 1. The project report may be created in PowerPoint and to be sent as a pdf file. 2. The first slide should have all the identification details of the student such as Name, class, div, roll no., topic, etc. 3. Photos must be included as and where specified. The photos must necessarily show the student doing the project / activity in School uniform (preferable) or decent civil clothes. 4. The submission dates must be strictly followed. NO submission will be entertained after the deadline. 5. Instructions for uploading the project on Google Classroom will be given clearly to the students. Please upload the project there and keep a soft copy for your reference as well. A rupee saved is a rupee earned. My relationship with currency Learning Objectives: Student: 1. Identifies areas of spending at home which come under non-essential categories especially in the backdrop of the pandemic. (eg. Entertainment, clothes, video games, eating out, unnecessary shopping). 2. Identifies areas where the child can contribute at home to save money. (eg. Ironing of clothes, reusing old notebooks as rough books, maintain a kitchen garden that contributes to atleast Rs 10 worth of weekly garnishes in the kitchen such as dhaniya, kadipatta, pudina, mirchi, leafy veg) 3. Come up with at-least 2 ideas where they earn money and contribute to the coin for country initiative apart from those mentioned above. What is expected from the students? Students must present their report as a pdf. 1. Slide/Page 1: Chart of non - essential categories of spending money.

2. Slide/Page 2: Chart of areas where students can save money. 3. Slide/Page 3: 2-4 Photos/video log of ironing clothes / gardening. Calculate how much money have you saved in a month? 4. Slide/Page 4: 2-4 photos/video log of contributing to coin for country. Calculate the amount contributed to this initiative (one month duration). 5. Slide/Page 5-6: Personal response to 2 questions: Student Responses to the following questions to be done on last two slides. a) Ratna Beauty Care is a shop on Karve Road that has seen ups and downs in business from March 2020 to Feb 2021 due to the lockdown. The table of its income is given below along with the graph. If the shop requires a minimum of Rs 15000 per month to survive, has the shop made /lost money in this lockdown period? They have decided to help a blind girl’s school with these funds. 2/5th of this money is given to funding a smart voice activated computer and the remaining is used to buy audio devices that help them to listen to their

lessons. Each audio device costs Rs. 7500. Calculate the cost of the computer and the number of devices bought by the blind school. Subject – Science Name of the project: Chemistry and coins. (A) Alloying: Alloying is a process in which two or more elements are melted together in a precise combination to form a specific material called an alloy which has better properties than the constituent elements used in making it. (B) Cleaning of coins General instructions: 1. It is an individual project. 2. Submission date will be mentioned in the comprehensive document which should be strictly followed. No submission will be entertained after the dead line. 3. Total marks allotted –10 4. Font size-18 & bold for titles & sub-titles, overall text size 16. Font style Times New Roman throughout the entire project. You can make it colourful by using various colours for the font. 5. Learning outcomes: 1. Importance of alloying in making coins. 2. Identify the different materials that can be used to clean the coins. 6. Skills developed:  Critical thinking  Observation  Analytical study  Scientific temper  Experimentation  Data collection 7. Student should complete project report in minimum 8 & maximum 12 slides. 8. A copy of the project should be stored with the student and produced whenever asked by the teacher. 9. On the first slide in the right-hand corner, student should paste his/her passport size photo and type name, roll number, class and division. 10. There is only one topic. Each student will do the project individually. 11. Micro details of the project will be shared by the respective science teachers.

Subject – SST Whenever people pay for goods or services, they use some form of money. Money can be almost anything, as long as everyone agrees on its value. Before people used money, they bartered, or traded things they had in surplus for the things they wanted. People invented money to avoid bartering. Coins made from precious metals like alloys of gold, silver and copper were used. Later governments printed paper money and minted coins. Money has evolved over years in its different forms. Today, the paper money and coins that people use are called currency. Each country has its own form of currency.

Let’s understand more about how money has changed in form and value over the centuries…… Q1.
