Prepositions of Place • Prepositions of place show where a person or thing is. • We use specific prepositions in these phrases: Dash is on the bike. - at home, at school, at work. Feather is in the box. - on the left / right, on the first / second floor, on the wall. Cat is between the trees. - in bed, in hospital, in an armchair (but on a chair). The ball is behind the small tree. Tom isn’t at home. He’s in hospital! Rocky is in front of the big tree. There are pictures on the wall. The book is next to Rocky. It’s nine o’clock on Sunday morning. Fred is in bed. The bag is under Rocky’s head.26
