RetreatSENIOR SCHOOL | GRADE EIGHT Grade 8s participated in their annual retreat on Wednesday 2 February 2022. The theme of the retreat was the Dominican Ethos of the school. The Grade 8s spent their day meditating with Mrs Barbosa. Sr Nontebeko helped the girls understand what it means to be a Dominican Sister. Mrs Gous guided the girls through the School’s Heritage Room. In addition, they went on a short pilgrimage to the grotto at the entrance to the Sister’s cemetery depicting the legend of St Dominic receiving the rosary from the Blessed Virgin Mary and baby Jesus. The rosary was explained to the girls. At the end of the retreat the Grade 8s made their own beaded rosaries. The Retreat closed with a prayer service. Ms Rindfleisch Making rosaries Time for meditation Look for Christ Our Lord in everyone and you will then have respect and reverence for all. ~ St Teresa
