Week 2 Title: EU officials stumble on bamboo shark eggs during beach cleaning operation. Author: Kornrawee Panyasuppakun Source: http://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/national/30356418 Summary The ambassador of the European Union, Pirkka Tapiola, and 60other EU staff took part in a beach cleaning activity on Koh Sak, Pattayaand found two hatched eggs of gray bamboo shark on the beach filledwith plastic debris. They said that found the hatched eggs of graybamboo sharks is very encouraging them because bamboo sharks arequite tasty and have often been hunted by local fishermen but they veryseriously concern about plastic pollution in sea that cause eating plasticin marine animals and become a global concern. And they have thesolution by recycling and reuse of plastic waste and promotion ofsustainable consumption. My reaction/reflection: I can read this article smooth because they don’t have complexsentence and the text is easy to understand but it also have someunknown word and then I search in dictionary and understand it. I thinkthis topic is very helpful because the problem of plastic in the sea is veryserious. Most of marine animals are die because of eating plastic wasteand we should to campaign about don’t increase throwing plastic wastein the sea. Page 2 of 5
