Down The Memory Lane

Schooling is the best part of my life. DHASMAI SHREE R Alumna (2019-20)School, classroom, homework, Notebooks, late submissions, dining -halls, playgrounds, teachers, PT substitutions, free periods, friends, gangs and lot more… It's been days that I got separated from the sphere of these but still I find it harder and harder to accept the thought that I’m not in school anymore! New world, new atmosphere, new characters and new faces. Everything feels alien to me. Yes, I have completed my schooling and I’m doing my graduation. This Covid Pandemic has added more pain to the injury. I couldn’t have a face to face interaction with my college buddies.

No real time classroom atmosphere. Everything is virtual. My online classes just includes lectures, PowerPoint presentations and assignments. I can never blame my college teachers for it as they also never want it to be like this, but still it has to go on. This has a great impact on me and I no longer have the homeliness feel that I had in my school. Those early mornings when I was the first to reach the class and to scribble on the board with all my energy, those afternoons when my friends ate my lunch and I had to buy stuffs from canteen to fill my tummy, those evenings where we ran around the campus like we were the most craziest people in the world!

When I think of those, I reassure myself that, “Yes, this was your most beautiful moments of life!!”I’m not a popular girl in my school, though I’ve been there for around 7 years. But still I knew most of the students and most of them knew me too. The little things that I enjoyed the most make me yearn for this life again. My sweet little junior friends waving at me when they cross my class, playing with the cute little children while I was campaigning for “The NGP Carnival- 19 & 20”, long meaningful advice from my sweet teachers were all those that made my heart flutter. I, of course, have to mention my teachers.

Having them is one of my greatest blessings!!! Right from the ones who pushed me to the stage to the ones who proudly clapped for me among the audience and at the backstage, they are the reason for who I am today. Even if I put tonnes and tonnes of words to thank them, it’ll never be enough. My tears are rolling down. I couldn’t resist the thought of the good and memorable times I had with my friends. My dear school, I miss you so much!! But I know I’ve to move on towards my goal and career. Only then there will be meaning to all my days in my school and my teacher’s sacrifices. I hope that one day I get to meet all of my school family and tell them, “Yes! I’ve made it! I have made it because of you all! Thank you!” That is all I want in the end!

The students of grades 1 to 3 were delighted to listento the stories narrated by Mrs. Pragi Padmanaban,a renowned storyteller from Tirupur trained by the Kathalaya academy of storytelling.
