High SchoolFoundationProgramme AIS High School Foundation Programme is developed for international students seeking enrolment into Stage 1 of the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). The Foundation Programme is designed for international students who have successfully completed Year 9. Support ClassesPastoral CareIn pursuit of educating the whole child, AISprovides Pastoral Care classes for each year level.AIS understands the unique needs of internationalstudents. To help make these students’ stay asproductive and successful as possible, AIS aimsto provide a high level of care for each individual.The aim of the Pastoral Care classes is to assiststudents’ personal and emotional developmentand well-being. Pastoral Care teachers facilitatecontact between students, home-stay families,Student Services Officer, Counsellor, subjectteachers and Principal.TutorialTutorial is a time period where teachers andstudents are available for individual subjectassistance. Individual subject teacher discretionis used to guide students’ focus which mayinclude extension, clarifying and responding toany other academic needs of students.HomeroomThis is a short time spent each day for the purposeof administration and organisation. Tasks includeroll taking, daily notices, follow up of absenteeism,organising permissions for out of class activitiesand diary management.Homework ClubThere is an option for students to engage in 5Homework Club Monday to Thursday, afterformal lessons have finished for the day.
