A Message from the Pastors- “Let God Be True” -- Our Theme for 2021-- Romans 3:4-5 As we celebrate Father’s Day, we share a devotional from “Our Daily Bread” written by Albert Lee. It is based on a verse from Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians: “We exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own children. (1 Thess. 2:11). It is called, Thanks, Dad “In the US, more long distance calls are made on Mother’s Day than any other day. But on Father’s Day, the most collect calls are made. It seems that children still depend on their fathers to provide, even when they are far away from home. “Fathers are needed and wanted for much more than financial help. While 1 Thessalonians 2:10- 12 is primarily directed toward church leaders, Paul talks about how their role is similar to a father’s. He states: “You know how we exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own children.” “Exhorted is “to call near.” It is easy for fathers to think that all that’s required of them is to bring home a paycheck. But children need their close encouragement. “The word comforted is “to console.” Nothing is more valuable to a child than the time given by a father to listen and talk. Without constant relating, relationships turn cold. ”Charged is “to affirm.” Fathers challenge their children by affirming the truth of God’s Word as they live it out in front of them. And even in failings, they affirm what is right through the asking of forgiveness. “How thankful we can be for fathers who help their children “walk worthy of God” (v.12).” We’re thankful for our fathers, Lord, They’re special gifts from You; Help us to show we honor them by what we say and do. Good fathers reflect the heavenly Father. Source: Albert Lee.https://odb.org/2010/06/20/thanks-dad/. Yours in Christ, Paul and Kathy Walker, Pastors  Come! Let Us Worship Together! Our Statement of Faith WEbelieve that the Bible is the authoritative, inerrant and infallible Word of God. WEbelieve in one God, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, eternally existent as God, the Father Almighty, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Ghost. WEbelieve in Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten of the Father and the only Savior. WEbelieve in his miraculous conception by the Holy Ghost, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, and His sufferings. We believe in His vicarious and atoning death to accomplish the salvation of man, in His burial, and in His bodily resurrection on the third day according to the Scriptures. We believe in His ascension into Heaven, where He now sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, forever making intercession for all who would come to God. WEe believe that the whole purpose of man is to glorify God and to be His good pleasure. Yet man is sinful and is separated from God by his sin. Man is saved from the consequences of sin and brought into fellowship with God by experiencing the New Birth. This New Birth is accomplished by believing in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, confession of the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and water baptism into Jesus Christ according to the Scriptures. WE believe that the baptism in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues according to Acts 2:4 is the gift of God to all believers who ask for it. WEbelieve in the resurrection of all, the righteous to eternal life, and the wicked to eternal damnation and punishment.

Fathers Are Wonderful People -- By Helen Steiner Rice -- Fathers are wonderful people too little understood, And we do not sing their praises as often as we should… For somehow Father seems to be the man who pays the bills, While Mother binds up little hurts and nurses all our ills… And Father struggles daily to live up to his image As protector and provider and hero of the scrimmage… And perhaps that is the reason we sometimes get the notion That fathers are not subject to the thing we call emotion, But if you look inside Dad’s heart, where no one else can see, You’ll find he’s sentimental and as soft as he can be… But he’s so busy every day in the grueling race of life, He leaves the sentimental stuff to his partner and his wife… But fathers are just wonderful in a million different ways, And they merit loving compliments and accolades of praise, For the only reason Dad aspires to fortune and success Is to make the family proud of him and to bring them happiness… And like our heavenly Father, he’s a guardian and a guide, Someone that we can count on to be always on our side.   From: https://www.southernliving.com/fathers‐day/fathers‐day‐poems
