Amen. New Testament Reading Acts 10:34-43 Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one

who fears him and does what is right. You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. You know what has happened throughout the province of Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached—how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. “We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross, but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.” Special Music “The Day of Resurrection” Carol Hess by Henry T. Smart and arranged by Larry Shackley Gospel Reading Luke 24:1-12 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered,

they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words. When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened. Leader: The word of God for the people of God. People: Thanks be to God. Message Pastor Lori Robinson Rejoice In The Resurrection GOD’S PEOPLE RESPOND *Hymn of Response “Victory In Jesus” UMH#370

I heard an old, old story, how a savior came from glory How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me; I heard about His groaning, of his precious blood's atoning, Then I repented of my sins and won the victory. Oh, victory in Jesus, my savior forever! He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him, And all my love is due Him; He plunged me to victory Beneath the cleansing flood. I heard about His Healing, of His cleansing power revealing, How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see; And then I cried, \"Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit,\" And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory. Oh, victory in Jesus, my savior forever! He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him, And all my love is due Him; He plunged me to victory Beneath the cleansing flood. I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory,

and I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea; about the angels singing and the old redemption story, and some sweet day I’ll sing up there the song of victory. Oh, victory in Jesus, my savior forever! He sought me and bought me With His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him, And all my love is due Him; He plunged me to victory Beneath the cleansing flood. *Affirmation of Faith The Apostles Creed UMH#881 I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;* the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic** church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. Sharing In Prayer: Concerns and Joys Silent Prayer UMH#895 Pastoral Prayer The Lord’s Prayer Reception of the Tithes and Offerings *Doxology UMH#94 Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below: Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise God, the source of all our gifts! Praise Jesus Christ, whose power uplifts! Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! *Offertory Prayer (unison) Holy God, you graciously welcome all who seek you. We are grateful that you abundantly provide

for all our needs. Guide us by your Spirit to live actively in faith honoring you in all we do. Let the ministries of our church reach out to show and tell our neighbors of your redeeming love. Receive and consecrate our tithes and offerings for the sake of Jesus, the Risen Lord. Amen. GOD’S PEOPLE ARE SENT FORTH *Hymn of Sending Forth UMH#322 “Up From the Grave He Arose” Low in the grave he lay, Jesus my Savior, waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord! Up from the grave he arose, with a mighty triumph o'er his foes; he arose a victor from the dark domain, and he lives forever, with his saints to reign. He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose! Vainly they watch his bed, Jesus my Savior; vainly they seal the dead, Jesus my Lord! Up from the grave he arose, with a mighty triumph o'er his foes; he arose a victor from the dark domain, and he lives forever, with his saints to reign. He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my Savior; he tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord! Up from the grave he arose, with a mighty triumph o'er his foes; he arose a victor from the dark domain, and he lives forever, with his saints to reign. He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose! *Benediction “He Lives (v1)” UMH#310 *Choral Benediction I serve a risen Savior, He’s in the world today; I know that he is living, Whatever foes may say. I see his hand of mercy, I hear his voice of cheer, And just the time I need him, He’s always near. He lives, he lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with e and talks with me along life’s narrow way. He lives, He lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know he lives? He lives within my heart.
