Invocation *Call To Worship Leader: Jesus came that we might have life, and have it abundantly; People: Jesus brought healing through a touch that knew no prejudice or barrier. Leader: Jesus conveyed guidance that damaged relationships can be made whole again; People: Jesus accepts us as we are and molds us into the people we were meant to be. Leader: Jesus brought a means through which humankind could be made right again with its Creator;

People: Lord Jesus, we offer you our praise and glorify your Name. *Opening Hymn “The Day of Resurrection” UMH#303 The day of resurrection! Earth, tell it out abroad; the passover of gladness, the passover of God. From death to life eternal, from earth unto the sky, our Christ hath brought us over, with hymns of victory. Our hearts be pure from evil, that we may see aright the Lord in rays eternal of resurrection light; and listening to his accents, may hear, so calm and plain, his own \"All hail!\" and, hearing, may raise the victor strain. Now let the heavens be joyful! Let earth the song begin! Let the round world keep triumph, and all that is therein! Let all things seen and unseen

their notes in gladness blend, for Christ the Lord hath risen, our joy that hath no end. Children’s Chat GOD’S WORD PROCLAIMED Prayer for Illumination: (in unison) Living Lord, who caused all holy scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, and retain them, that we may ever hold fast to the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen. New Testament Reading Acts 5:27-32 The apostles were brought in and made to appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest. “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.” Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings! The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins. We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”

Special Music Carol Hess Gospel Reading John 20:19-31 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop

doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. Leader: The word of God for the people of God. People: Thanks be to God. Message The Power of Peace Pastor Lori Robinson GOD’S PEOPLE RESPOND *Hymn of Response UMH#327 “Crown Him with Many Crowns” Crown him with many crowns, the Lamb upon his throne. Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own. Awake, my soul, and sing of him who died for thee, and hail him as thy matchless King through all eternity. Crown him the Lord of life,

who triumphed o'er the grave, UMH#883 and rose victorious in the strife for those he came to save. His glories now we sing, who died, and rose on high, who died, eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die. Crown him the Lord of peace, whose power a scepter sways from pole to pole, that wars may cease, and all be prayer and praise. His reign shall know no end, and round his pierced feet fair flowers of paradise extend their fragrance ever sweet. Crown him the Lord of love; behold his hands and side, those wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified. All hail, Redeemer, hail! For thou hast died for me; thy praise and glory shall not fail throughout eternity. *Affirmation of Faith We are not alone, we live in God’s world. We believe in God: Who has created and is creating,

Who has come to Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, Who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the church: To celebrate God’s presence, To love and serve others, O seek justice and resist evil, To proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope.
