Operation Homefront Back to School Brigade Backpacks for ChildrenThank you for your donations for children of military families! This year MUMC collected: • 7 Backpacks • 36 Lined Pads of Paper • 12 Boxes of Markers, and • 13 Boxes of Black Bic PensThanks to Harold Galey for leading us in thiswonderful ministry to PA military families!We are continuing to collect school supplies forlocal children through the month of August – itemsto be distributed by the Pocono Dry Goods pantry– bring your donations to church!

Greetings and well wishes to you all. I know scheduling of fall events are in fullswing. Sometimes we wish for more hours in each day to have needed time toachieve all our tasks. Sometimes we forget to reserve time for our Church. Pausefor a moment. Say a prayer and talk to our Lord. Reflect in the silence and prayfor our Church and community. There are many ways each of us can do more.Music is one way to give praise to God. I would love to see more of you join ouradult choir which practices on Wednesday nights and sings two Sundays eachmonth. We begin rehearsals at 7:30 pm. There is no pressure. We truly lovemaking music, love each other, and love our Lord. We welcome you to join us. Joyce Bloor Wirth, 85, went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2018. She resided in Edgewater Landing inEdgewater, Florida since 1997 and then spent the last 3 ½ years at Solaris Nursing Home in Daytona Beach. She issurvived by her husband, Robert Wirth, and 3 children: daughter Carole Worhrle (Randy), Lake Ariel, PA; son, Robert,Meriden, CT; and daughter, Ellen Cimino (Steve), Quakertown, PA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: ChrisWoehrle, Nick Woehrle, Leanna Blazosek, Joseph Cimino and Gianna Cimino; 5 great grandchildren, and nieces andnephews. Joyce was the daughter of the late James and Nella Bloor. She was raised in the Sunny Side Area of EastLiverpool, OH. She attended Washington Elementary school and graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1950.She attended and graduated from Ohio State University, class of 1954. She took a job (as Medical Technologist) as partof the laboratory staff in the East Liverpool Hospital and then took a similar position in Columbus, OH at theUniversity Hospital. In 1956, she married Robert Wirth from Midland, PA and they took up residence in Harrisburg, PA. Afterliving in Williamsport, PA for a short while, they moved to Moscow, PA where she resided for 45 years being awonderful, loving mother and homemaker. She was an active member of the Moscow United Methodist Church. Shealways loved her bridge game with the ladies of the community. As snowbirds, she and Robert enjoyed the activesocial life in Edgewater Landing and was a member of the Coronado Community United Methodist Church. With hercaring heart, she enjoyed and helped young children. Joyce’s family was paramount in her life. Friends and family will always remember her kind spirit, winningsmile and giving heart. She especially enjoyed reading and traveling. A memorial service will be held on August 20, 2018 at 11 am at the Moscow United Methodist Church, 126Church Street, Moscow, PA with a time of visitation with Joyce’s family beginning at 10 am. Expressions of sympathycan be sent to Robert Wirth at 612 Portside Lane, Edgewater, FL 32141 and memorial contributions can be made inmemory of Joyce to St. Jude’s Childrens’ Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
