Dear Grandma and Grandpa Hello from Shanghai, China. This is one of the coolest cities I have ever been to, Probably because of all these amazing architectural things. The entire city has this really futuristic look to it, except for some older parts of it like the bund. The bund is this walkway right next to the water with a bunch of historic looking buildings and a great view of the whole city. We also traveled a little ways away from the city itself and went to the Yangtze river. The Yangtze River is the 3rd longest river in the world and it's over 3,400 miles long!!! The food here is really good, nothing like chinese restaurants in America. We went to a restaurant along the river and I had some steamed crab. They served it wrapped in a string. Apparently they use s pecial types of crab found in rivers and even though it was not anything like American seafood, I liked it a lot and I think you should try it if you ever come here.T hat's all for now, see you soon! Love, Mattie

Dear Honey, I'm at Taj Mahal, in Agra, India. The views here are magnificent and there are lots of interesting things to look at. The Taj Mahal is mausoleum made of white marble and 28 types of jewels set into the marble. It was built by the emperor,Shah Jahan in memory of his wife. I went and visited at sunrise because I had heard the view is breathtaking at that time, and it really was! I wish you were here to see it all in person with me. I took lots of pictures so I’ll show you when I return home. See you soon. Love, Milind

Dear Auntie Adjoa We landed in Chengdu, Sichuan in China 3 days ago. Everything seems so slow paced here, not at all like back at home. There aren't that many people that you can see running anywhere, the locals all walk at a leisurely pace. Kosi and I have noticed a lot of Mahjong tables set up along the Yangtze river, and Mommy said that Mahjong is considered essential to the locals and since it is summer time, they are playing outside more and more. I think Grandma and Grandpa would like it here, especially the food. It’s so spicy! I did some research and I found out that they are best known for their Sichuan Peppercorn that is actually grown here! I liked the spicy hot pot the most which I observed a lot of the locals enjoy. At night, we’ve been going to one of the oldest regional opera cultures which is the Sichuan Opera. We got to see some acrobatics, fire spitting, but we all loved the magical face changing the most. On the tour info page, it said that this practice is solely performed in Sichuan and that some of the best artists reside in Chengdu which makes the act all the more fun. Did you know that Chengdu hasn’t changed it’s name in over 2,000 years? In comparison , Beijing used to change names every dynasty , so 20 or more names. I found that really fascinating. Tomorrow we plan to visit
the Leshan Giant Buddha statue to learn more about the Buddhism culture in Chengdu. There are alot of other statues that show the presence of Buddhism in Chengdu, but I don't think we will be able to get to all of them. Mommy said before we leave to come back home, we are going to go see the Giant Pandas! Chengdu is known for being the home of giant pandas, so it only makes sense that we go and see them. I can't wait to look at all the cute little pandas! Missing you and hope to see you soon! Sincerely, Efua Boatin P.s.- the pictures on the front are of a street in Chengdu and a hotel over the water at night.

Dear Annalise, You're probably wondering why I’m writing. Well believe it or not, I’m in Tokyo right now! I know it sounds crazy, but it's true. It's such a fun experience here! I’m in downtown Tokyo and I'm staying in a hotel with 10 stories! (sadly I couldn't get on the top floor, but the ninth is still pretty cool.) The food has been really good. Infact, just the other day I got some Ramen and it was sooooo good. Soon, I’ll be in India visiting the Ganges River, but don't worry, I’ll write again asap. Sincerely, Noah B.

Dear Nasia I have made it to Jaipur, India. It was a long 17 hours but it was worth it. It is quite nice here, and r eally pretty. I have visited the City Palace, Jaipur, and Hawa Mahal in the Pink City and booked a room at the Samode Haveli. I am planning to visit more places in the Pink City. The ice cream is amazing here also. My fav place so far is the Jal Mahal Ice cream parlor near the Panch Batti. Malpua, which is a pancake-like treat, and it is delicious. You should see the Pink City at night, it's amazing, there are pink, purple, and other bright lights. Oh, and the Amber Palace was just a breath taker, I’ll be sure to send pics when I can. Apparently it's an historical fort along with many others like the Jaigarh Fort, and the Nahargarh fort as well. I l ove i t here, miss you. Write back soon if you can! Love, Kyla (Rakyla Vaughan)

Mrs. Brittian, Dear Greetings from the Taklimakan desert in northwest China. I hope you're doing fine because the heat is certainly getting to me. We arrived in the desert just two days ago and we have enjoyed every bit of it. As we arrived we were greeted with our host who took us to where we would stay for the rest of the day and the following morning. We then went out to eat at a magnificent ramen house. We then went to bed where we woke up to pack our bags and head over to the start of our desert journey. We rented out a couple of llamas and caretakers to help us across the desert and set off across the dunes. We came across plenty of rocks and animals such as rabbits, birds, and small lizards. We proceeded to the checkpoint where we ate and sat by the campfire until nightfall. The next morning we continued our stretch across the dunes where I sat down and wrote this letter. Sincerely, Sawyer Elmore

Dear Mimi, Hello from Shanghai China! I’ve had a BLAST first of all we HAD to go to Disneyworld. It’s so different from Disneyworld in the U.S; it’s kind of the same concept but with a bit of Chinese architecture and culture added to it like Cinderella’s castle is even prettier than the one is the U.S! We walked past the Jade Buddah Temple and saw prayer service. And the greatest part was seeing the Yangtze River since Shanghai is on the coast and the river spills out to the Pacific Ocean. We went to tons of museums like the China Art Museum, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art. We went to the Nanjing road. It's full of people and tourist attractions like little shops full of toys, restaurants, and more. I miss you sooooooo much! See you soon! Sincerely, Sophia.

Dear Cindy Eldridge Hi! Tokyo is really cool, right now I’m at the Nezu shrine and walking through those red arches that they have. It’s super pretty here. I heard that in the spring part of the citys’ trees turn into cherry blossoms and it supposably looks amazing. After this I want to go to the Nintendo store and do stuff there, because I walked by there and it looked awesome. Well I have to go, Bye! Sincerely, Zachary Eldridge
