He Dato’ Dr Lim Kee Jin FASc has made outstanding contributions in uplifting the healthcare standards, which started in Johor Bahru and throughout the nation. 24 Feb 1923 – 3 Dec 2015 He began his career at the General Hospital Penang as a House Physician MBBS, UM 1952 and continued serving as a medical registrar in 1953. In 1958, he was posted Member, Malaysian Medical Council 1960 -1966 to the Hospital Sultanah Aminah (formerly known as General Hospital Johor President, Association of Physicians of Malaya 1964 - 1965 Bahru) as Consultant Physician. Member, National Health Council, Malaysia 1966 President of the Malaysian Medical Association 1969 - 1970 Dato’ Dr Lim pioneered in the establishment of KPJ Johor Specialist President, College of Physicians of Malaysia 1980 -1986 Hospital (JSH), the first private hospital in Johor Bharu in 1981. He served Foundation Fellow of ASM 1995 as a Senior Consultant Physician until he retired in 2001. He was elected as chairman of Johor Area Rehabilitation Organisation (JARO), a registered charitable society and sheltered workshop in 1962 and was popularly re-elected from 1962 – 2007 which he held the post for 46 years. During his tenure as chairman, he had called for JARO’s facilities to be expanded and to network with other welfare bodies in Johor, throughout Malaysia and internationally. Besides founding KPJ JSH, he was also a passionate teacher of medicine who founded the first post-graduate medical training centre in Malaysia (1969). He will be remembered for his leadership, kindness, and his lifework of service to others. 170

MEMORANDUM PERSEFAHAMAN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING Memorandum Persefahaman / Perjanjian bertujuan untuk meningkatkan dan mengeratkan kerjasama dua hala di antara Malaysia dengan negara-negara lain melalui akademi-akademi sains yang lain serta organisasi sains, teknologi dan inovasi (STI) antarabangsa. MoU / perjanjian yang telah ditandatangani oleh ASM memberi peluang kepada penyelidik Malaysia untuk bekerjasama dengan rakan-rakan asing, untuk berkongsi pengetahuan, untuk membina kepakaran dan juga untuk mengukuhkan keupayaan sains dan teknologi untuk membolehkan negara bersaing seiring dengan pembangunan kemajuan sains dan teknologi global. The Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) /Agreements aim at promoting and strengthening bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and other countries through sister academies or science, technology and innovation (STI) international organisations.
