Science and Society As the future of our nation lies with today’s young generation, it is essential to nurture them from the beginning on a right foundation in science and technology and equip them to meet the challenges that are ahead and thrive as the leaders of tomorrow. Thus the Academy continues to promote national awareness, understanding and appreciation of the role of science, engineering and technology in human progress.66 Laporan Tahunan 2010

International Linkages In the era of the knowledge economy, it is vital for the Academy to establish strong networks with international science organisations and sis- ter Academies. These networks have increased opportunities for the sharing of knowledge, ex- pertise as well as scientific and technological capabilities in order for the nation to remain competent in the context of global science and technology advancement. Apart from forming, signing MoUs with international SET organisa- tions and sister Academies, the Academy co- organises conferences or meetings of interna- tional SET bodies.80 Laporan Tahunan 2010
