FOUNDER'S DAY “It is not the beauty of a building you should look at; it’s the construction of the foundation that will stand the test of time.” Gyan Devi Salwan Public School celebrated its Founders’ Day on 5th December, 2021. The programme commenced with a hawan for equipping the Institution to continue to train the future generations for a greener, peaceful, compassionate, and happier world. The documentary shown to the students took them on a glorious journey of Salwanians from its inception to achieving its present-day place amongst the pantheons of centres of excellence. It was indeed a nostalgic trip down memory lane and a proud moment for all the students to be a part of such a rich heritage. The spellbinding celebration was streamed live on YouTube, amidst great zest, vibrancy, and elation.

December to Remember: Celebrating the Joy of Giving Soaking in the spirit of Christmas, the little G.D Salwanians presented a cultural extravaganza and exhibited the real spirit of the festival on a virtual platform. A week-long celebration encompassed a plethora of activities. Under the guidance of teachers, the students of classes I-III created some mouth- watering delicacies; Fruit- Santa, and Christmas cookies are a few to name. The students of classes IV and V had the hands- on experience of creating Christmas fridge magnets. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was evident on the faces of all children.

My Nation My Pride Embarking on the celebrations this year; the school celebrated the 75th Republic Day with immense patriotic fervour and zeal through an online platform. Week-long class-wise speaking activities were organized to infuse the spirit of unity, brotherhood, and patriotism. The students also proved their zeal for creativity through craftwork. The online assembly became lively with the mystical amalgamation of art and music. The graceful dancers depicted Hast Mudras, while the soulful singers captivated the audience with melodious medley and brimming the hearts with love for the nation. A plethora of events was put up, showcasing the cultural diversity of India.

When the sun shines bright gleeful faces sparkle and shine- Fun Filled Day We at GDSPS truly believe in creating cherished memories. We love the feeling of flying over the ground. Living up to this stance, the school was delighted to conduct fun-filled activities for students on 26th February 2022, Saturday. Catering to students’ holistic development, the children were engaged in a wide array of outdoor games and sports activities. A plethora of art and craft activities engaged the tender hands with mindful learning. Scintillating dance and music triggered everyone with enthusiasm and fervour. The ambience was filled with smiles, laughter, and joyful faces.

CBSE 100 Days Reading Campaign In order to inculcate lifelong reading habits amongst the children, the school became a part of an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Govt of India 100 Days Reading Campaign. Focusing on making reading enjoyable and building a lifelong association with the joy of reading. A wide range of activities such as a Facebook page, comic strips, A Lifetime Tale in Pictures was conducted for the students. To hone writing skills, children wrote Thankyou Notes and Diary entries and summarized the stories by retelling the same in their own words.
