INDEPENDENCEDAY CELEBRATIONThe children of KG celebrated the free spirit of the IndianIndependence day with great fervor & joy on 14th Aug, 2018. Inexcited anticipation they mounted the steps to the assembly hallwhere all the students of KG quizzed on timeline of Indian history.They came dressed in different characters costumes and colour ofour national flag. The effort put in by the children & teachers can bereflected by the pictures of the event. The little kiddies tookpatriotism to the new heights with soulful recitation of “Sarejahanse acha”. They even inacted the role of national leaders and thendance together shoulder to shoulder. The dance showed the feelingof unity & secularism. Some students also performed a dance onpatriotic song. To imbibe the feeling of patriotism the program wasfollowed by Tableau performance of “Sabarmati ashram”. It was arich learning experience for children who cherished the value offreedom & patriotism.

SMILE WEEKFrom 20th August to 24th August was planned andcelebrated as SMILE WEEK in the school. The centralidea was “To make a positive environment by justpassing a smile”. KG was actively involved in variousactivities planned by teachers. Little Goenkans madesmiley face and coloured it. The day started with aspecial assembly in which students were holdingplacards showing different smiley faces and made allunderstand the importance of smile. This was a day foreveryone to share the power of smile. The beautiful dayended with the children carrying home the take away assmiley batch.
SMILE WEEK CONTINUED… “Happy students make better learner” When we have more kindness we will definetly have more smiles!!With respect to the same KG children were shown astory “ SMILE PLEASE” as literary item for smileweek. The day was well spend but wasn’t over untileveryone was smiling looking at each other.On the lastday of the week KG presented a special assembly inwhich they were saying that “Smile and show yourteeth”.
RAKSHABANDHAN CELEBRATION IN ARMY CAMP “Creating a bond of love” Rakhi Making Activity-was organized in school to make the students learn the sacred bond between brothers & sisters. They learnt to make beautiful &colourfulrakhies. “Thread of love for soldiers brothers” For the jawans posted in Katihar region, away from home,Raksha Bandhan came early as school girls and women wentto the army camp to tie rakhies on the wrist of the men who secure our nation so that others can peacefully sleep in the comfort of their home. Although the festival was observed across the country after two days of the same day.

RAKSHABANDHAN CELEBRATION IN SCHOOLRaksha Bandhan is a festival which celebrates the love& affection between brothers & sisters. KG students tiedthe knot of affection on the wrist of the security guardsof the school. The event definitely brought smiles on thefaces of the students as well as the guards who seemedmuch content with the way the festival was celebrated inthe school.They also tied rakhi to their classmates and sing thesong “Phoolon ka taro ka sbkakehna h “.
RAKSHABANDHAN CELEBRATION IN SCHOOL “Imagine tying rakhi to a tree”Science has proved that plants can also sense, feel ,understand and communicate. At GDGPS kiddies of KG celebrated rakshabandhan in aunique style when they tied rakhies to a tree to sent acrossthe message of saving environment &making people awareabout the benefits of plants in daily and are the saviours ofhumanity therefore let us protect & care for them.
ONAM CELEBRATION We had Onam celebration for the kindergarten which was held on 31st August,2018. The Master of ceremony was done by Harshit and Ammar of LKG. We startedthe program with welcome speech by Yashwardhan of UKG. Then we all welcomed the entry of King Mahabali (Viaan of LKG) and Vamana( Reyansh of LKG) followed by a beautiful dance of thiruvathira performed by UKG girls. In between a story of Onam festival was shown to students. All thestudents had Vadamvali (Tug of war) between them to show that they are strong enough to defeat their opponents. It was followed by Pulikali – tiger dance performed by LKG students where the kids were dressed with tiger costumes. Then came the boat dance which was also performed by KG kids. The program ended with Vote of thanks by Anand Kumar of LKG.

OPEN HOUSEOpen house is an occasion when parents & teachers sharesthe progress of their child. The 2nd Open house was held on25th August 2018 for KG where all our teachers shared thechild’s overall progress with the parents. It also helpteachers to know about the children progress and the childis learning something at home or in which subject he /she isinterested.The parents were allowed to see the academic andcocurricular portfolio. The parents were so happy to seethat so many activities were also done in that portfolios.

MINI MARKET Some teachers of KG have been preparing for the KG minimarket on open house. So many items were made by the KGstudents with the help of the teachers. Then all the items were presented in the assembly hall for mini market and all theitems were sold because the parents were so happy to see allthe products that their wards made. It was just like a festival.
Whats happening in the classroomIn GDGPS students are engaged in active &deep learning and are not passively taking in information from instructions. They are identifying, thinking, writing, reading etc. To make each student an active player in learning process, an environment must be created in which there are opportunities for students to do tasks.Here teachers are emphasizing on teaching through activities in which the students participate rigourously&bring about efficient learning experience. It gives reality for learning teachers uses all available resources to implement exploratory, constructive & expressional activities.
TEACHING LIFE SKILLS TO STUDENTS In GDGPS, life skills classes is an engaging lessonwhich addresses a very important part of growing up, learning life skills.
FREE It is essential part of a child’sPLAY development allowing time for free play. It helps to build a child’s imagination & creativity, as well as problem solving skills. It is important for building development skills in children.It helps in developing gross motor skills and help them learn to think independently.

INNOVATIONS By little hands Something that has never been made before or the process of creating something that has never been made before. Little students at GDGPS used to make innovations according to what has been taught inclass. This make them more confident about what they know.
SENTENCE OF THE DAY DURING CIRCLE TIME During Circle time , all students of KG are made to say aSENTENCE OF THE DAY related to the theme decided.It helps student to learn how sentences are constructed and know some new words too. Some of them are : Birds can fly. Birds have two wings . Birds lives in nest. I am an Indian. There are 5 sense organs. Onam is the festival of kerela. etc
ASSEMBLIES Assemblies at GDGPS powerfully nurtures thedevelopment of intra personal intelligence & enhancesinterpersonal skills among the peers further helping in their overall social & personal growth
