The children of L.KG. presented a ramp walk embedded in the theme of fruits and vegetables. GLIMPSES OF HEALTH & NUTRITION DAY
FRUITS & VEGETABLES SALAD COMPETITION Parents are the role models for their kids in their early years. Parents are the children’s first teacher, exploring nature, reading together, cooking together, learning together. In “Fruits and Vegetable Salad” making competition , mothers made mouth-watering yet nutritionally laden salads and garnished them with exotic items. Diverse types of salads, characteristics of different places and communities, were prepared and displayed by our dear moms. Their participation in the event resulted in the fabulous exhibition of their skills of Culinary art, oriented to makethe dining table feel more tempting by adding taste and nutrition to it. The competition was to inculcate healthy food habits and awareness regarding the choice of food among youth. Cleanliness, taste, and presentation were the basic criteria for judgement. The creativity of the participantswas revealed in the presentation of the salads in different designs and patterns.
POOL BASH One can’t have more fun than playing with water on a hot day in a splash pool! KG Children had their ‘Poolbash’ to “Beat the Heat.” Water play activities in young children strengthen motor skills, builds balance and the ability to propel and navigate. Coordination is also sharpened. Children enjoyed the cool pool under the guidance of their teachers. They enjoyed the music and had a “mind blowing” time. The children thoroughly enjoyed the splash pool activity, leaping into the water, splashing water at their friends and playing with floating toys. The kids were still beaming and were in no hurry to accept the notion of giving up for the time, even after the event got over!
On 25th May 2019, KG. had their first “Open House” for this academic year. Parents were excited to know about the progress of their children and to know how their children were coping up with the second level of their academic practices. Teachers discussed about children’s performance and informed parents about the creative as well as the constructive holiday homework that would be given to the kids which would keep them happily busy during the summer break. 1st OPEN HOUSE 2019-2020
Our unique SUMMER ADVENTURE DAY CAMP for kindergarteners emphasized fun, recreation, adventure, creativity, and learning. We focused on experiences that encourage children to form positive peer relationships by planning activities like poolbash, sports, art , craft, music & dance. We provided children with opportunities to develop their creative skills in arts and crafts, play group games, explore music throughout the globe, and much more… activities which were planned on a day to day basis. Campers were encouraged to participate in the planning of activities so that the programming will suit individual and group interests and cultural backgrounds and preferences.
INNOVATIONS INNOVATIONS
Creative young minds are always ready to learn something new and make it on their own . The kids of KG also made some innovations
CIRCLE TIME Circle Time is a popular activity that’s used to help develop positive relationships among children. It aims to give them tools to engage and listen to each other. It also helps children work on the five key skills, without which Circle Time doesn’t work: thinking, listening, looking, speaking and concentrating. This month we focused on their recitation of full sentence with appropriate pronunciation.
In addition to age-appropriate activities in Kindergarten, which prepare a child for success in formal school; various other activities were conducted in the areas of language, numbers, general knowledge, music, art in a planned manner throughout the program. Through these activities, children learnt the alphabet and letter sounds, numbers and simple math and mastered early writing skills. CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES
FREE PLAY Free play is an essential part of a child's development. Allowing time for free play helps to build upon a child's imagination and creativity, as well as problem solving skills. Play area provides crucial and vital opportunities for children to play. There has been substantial research showing a clear link between play and brain development. All learning – emotional, social, motor and cognitive is accelerated, facilitated and fuelled by the pleasure of play.We truly understand this fact and that is the reason we have a play area for our little ones.
STAR STUDENT Hands on learning is what we practise at GDGPSP. You would find our kids a lot more energetic during sessions in class and their minds never stop learning. They learnt and excelled in all arenas and thus were awarded “ STAR STUDENT OF THE MONTH”. UKG Star Student :- April UKG Star Student :- May
