There were four venues allotted for each item & the basketball ground area was the main venue, where the main events were performed. The two days saw exuberant students participate in a myriad of competitions. All the students were categorized into four groups namely, Beginners, Tulips, Dahlias & Sunflower. Competition was stiff & it was quite difficult for the judges to choose the winners. The competition helped to foster friendly relations between students of different classes & interests. The performance of the students made the school ambiance so vibrant that it echoed and reverberated against the walls of GDGPS & had a long lasting effect. The school went into a carnival mood as the event started one by one.The winners were rewarded during the valedictory function which was held on rd

All the kids of grade 1 were dressed up as Radha& Krishna with their outstandingperformance , they lit up the stage & mesmerized the audience. A “Handi Phod” (breaking the earthen pot) event was also organized to mark the divinely mischievous nature of Govinda.

HOUSE BOARD DECORATIONS Children need to explore, experiment & learn basic knowledge through direct experience. GDGPS always provides children opportunities to unlock their potential in different ways. The house boards were decorated last month with lots of articles & creative work done by the students. For students, decorating their house boards was a most enthusiastic endeavor. Every month students decorate the house boards with different themes & topics. This month the house board were decorated on the theme ‘Swaraj-2020’.

INNOVATIONS The classroom is the original cultivator of true learning and the green house that nurtures talent and creativity. The dynamics between a teacher and students define the essence of a classroom. A great teacher can transform the brick and motor confinement and take students on a journey of pure learning, responding to their doubts and instilling an environment of curiosity and interactivity. Hence to optimize learning methods, installing the latest educational technology and encouraging teachers to be more creative than ever, are necessities. Students, at the end of the lesson, are encouraged to come forward with an idea that would be based on the learned concept but would lead to the creation of something new and for the first time.

ACTIVITY TIME Extra Curricular activities help develop the student in a holistic manner. Students who are involved in extra and co curricular activities tend to improve their academic grades as well. This may be due to increased self esteem, motivation & better time management. They become better organized in the classroom and demonstrate a reduction of risky behavior & a heightened sense of belonging resulting in better disposition. That’s why we believe in activity oriented teaching.

ASSEMBLIES Assemblies are an important feature of the routine of the school. They also form a significant part of the school’s curriculum. They are a means to create a positive, reflective ethos and promote value-based education. They powerfully nurture the development of intrapersonal intelligence. All students assemble at the beginning of the school day at one place, usually in the school hall where prayers are held, news is read out, and instructions are given. Sometimes, students are required to deliver a speech or the Principal makes some announcement, if necessary. Overall, it is in the assembly that the eventful school day begins for the Goenkans.

ICON General Knowledge is one of the major aspectsof an individual’s development. It increases the IQ level of aperson by giving him knowledge from all the different sectors. In GDGPS, we have GK icons every month.Students are given different GK questions everyday. The best 25 are chosen from each level and they have their final exam on the 30th of every month. The winner is awarded with a badge and a certificate. The motive behind this is to help students enrich their knowledge ofdiverse sectors.

WORD WIZARD A literary activity “Word Wizard” requires children to look up the meanings of the assigned word, create a sentence with it and finally compose a piece where the word has been used contextually. This activity is a great booster for Vocabulary development. Each day, a word is assigned to students as per their academic level and word activities are done as directed.

HOSTEL- “A HOME AWAY FROM HOME” It is said that home is sweet, there can’t be any other place better than home. However, some say that life is hostel cannot be compared with that in home. The hostel of GDGPS is like a home where students are equipped with all the amenities and they are given care and attention as they get in their homes. The hostel is fully equipped with all the modern facilities and where the wardens are equal to being parents. The motive to have overall development of the child is always kept in consideration. The hostellers get regular academic guidance from the teachers; they are even trained in different games and sports activities by the P.E teacher. For their recreation, they are taken for outings on every second Saturday of the month. On every Sundays, they are engaged in different co- curricular activities to enhance their development. On one hand, it can be said that the hostel provides all the basic needs a child requires for his or her development.

Parents Voice The school is a part of a reputed brand. Following a unique methodology which emphasise more on practical understanding rather than mugging, they are making kids very enthusiastic about their classes. I am elated at being told by my child the futuristic and innovative ways the lessons are imparted in. Speaking of innovation, the school regularly comes up with activities-I won’t call them extra curricular activities, because they form a major part of curriculum. Regular speeches, debates and dramas are organised to polish public speaking skills and eliminate stage fright. Apart from this, numerous art and craft projects help fine tune the motor skills.
