PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMMEThe GD Genka Public school in Ranipatra, near Purnea, is a proposed CBSE schoolwhich has been started by ‘The GD Goenka Group’. On Saturday, the 7th of April, Thefounder parents of GDGPS were officially invited to the campus and the members ofmanagement committee were also present for the same.It was an occasion, when they were oriented about the vision and mission of the Teamof the School, by the Chairman, Mr. Piyush Agarwal, Principal, Mrs. Saroja Sahadevenand Chief Administrator, Mr K. S. Eradi The entire academic staff was also introduced swith their commitment, so that the parents could become familiar with the Facilitators,who will contribute for their child’s all-round development.The occasion was graced by the presence of Mrs. Bharti Sharma, the academic directorof GD Goenka Schools.The programme began with Lightening of lamp along with the talented teachers offeringprayers to the Almighty.Later, parents were addressed by the Principal who introduced to them, the ethos ofGDGPS. She presented a slideshow to make the parents aware of the teaching meth-odology adopted in classes for concept clarity and to make the experience of learningfun filled. She also elaborated on the functioning of the school.After the orientation programme, the parents visited the homeroom of their children, andinteracted with the homeroom teachers.The parents were very impressed with what they saw and felt. They were duly assuredthat the School and the Staff were very able and dedicated in their vocation. The par-ents’ feedback expressed that they were sure that the School will provide the childrenwith every emotional and academic support they deserve.The day turned out to be a success, when happy and satisfied parents reinstated theirtrust in GDGPSSubsequently, an orientation programme was also conducted on the same day for the

INAUGURATION GRAND OPENINGOn a Fabulous Friday of April, GD Goenka Public school Purnea opened its doors to its students and parent fraternity with the inauguration of their new school. April 20, 2018 was indeedan auspicious day for all at GDGPS. The Inaugural function of the School building was held. Inaugural ribbon was cut by Hon’ble Governor of Bihar – Shree Satya Pal Malik. He blessedthe school by his presence and words of appreciation for the school.Many other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. The stage was set ready for a grand celebration. The ceremony begun with lightning of lamp by the Chief Guest followed byother dignitaries . Our GDGPS Students also presented cultural Events for the guests and audience, who were then awarded by the book signed by Shree Satya Pal Malik himself. Afterthe ceremony everyone was invited to join lunch.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL NEW SKY NEW HOPE!A first step towards innovations and reaching new heights was taken on April 23, 2018, with the first day of school for the new academic session. K G to Grade VII students, reported earlymorning to school with enthusiasm. The teachers welcomed them with a special assembly explaining the theme and value of the month April. The entire day was fun filled and productivewith lots of activities that helped children bond with each other and the teachers. Students were given the Love band by their Class teacher as a token of love for new relation to begin.It was an excellent beginning to a great academic year ahead

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB INAUGURATIONTo encourage the photographic abilities of the students and as the start up to the Photography Club, the school had arranged for a photography competition for the students of grade V, VIand VII on April 23, 2018. The theme of the competition was ‘GDGPS photographers Students portrayed their skills in the most excellent manner by using their little cameras. This wasa great opportunity given to the students to portray their talent as a little photographers. It was certainly a well-received competition. Later on, Kashish of Grade V was Annouced as thewinner of the competitionDINCHAK CLICK!

THE 1ST FIRST SPECIAL ASSEMBLYFollowing the policy of GDGPS, “No Child Left Behind” the concept of morning assembly comes. Morning assembly was so successful at the school. The daily repetition of this sharingbegins to build in all of us a history of shared experiences. The kids love morning assembly. On 24th April the first assembly was presented by Grade VII students.“Superb Saturday” Oneach Saturday, the special assembly show is presented by the students for 1 hour. Grade 6 presented the 1st Assembly Show where in they showcased their talents. The first assemblyshow was based on the start up to the Ramanujan Club inauguration. This club lays the foundation classes for the club students on subject like maths.Outline of Morning AssemblyWe are committed to the entire morning assembly agenda. The gathering includes several parts:The student comparers lead the assembly which is followed by the Universal Prayer song of the Day. Then the School theme song is sung by the students , followed by pledge , news andvalue based presentation. Birthdays of students are also celebrated in the assembly and they are given small handmade birthday cards. Our GDGPS Kids are encouraged to donate bookto the library to encourage reading habit amongst their fellow mates.a moral. The participants recite the National/School pledge and the audience students follow it. The birthdays are also wished by the school with a card made by our teacher and the stu-dent donate a book to the school library as a token of remembrance. Lastly, they ended the assembly by the message of their class teacher and the principal ma’am.The students prove the mission and vision of GD Goenka- “Higher Brighter Stronger” in every day assembly.

KHATTI MEETHI RADIO SHOW INAUGURATIONOn 24th April 2018, Our radio jockey presented the first radio program on the assembly stage after the inauguration of our school radio station Radio Khatti-Meethi. The chief guest for theday was Mr. Anil Tiwari.

1st HOUSE MEET AT GDGPS, PURNEAThe students GDGPS are divided into four groups namely Teressa House, Tagore House, Vivekanand House and Radha-Krishnan House. Every Wednesday of the House activity is ar-ranged. On 25th April, the first house meet was conducted. Students were given an insight about importance of house system and the house policy of the school. They were then intro-duced to their house mistress and house teachers. Captain and Vice-Captain were also selected for each house by their House on that day.

STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONSDemocracyThe search for the most eligible leaders, to form the Student Council of GDGPS began almost immediately after the opening of the academic session. Candidates were shortlisted and thenbegan the exciting rallies and canvassing rounds, where the selected candidates went to classes to gain maximum popularity and to ensure that they won the upcoming elections. The electionwas conducted on April 25, 2018. Every student from grade I to VII cast their vote in the ballot boxes.The ballot boxes’ seals were then broken and the votes counted. The elected council body was then announce. The Student Council would now be trained to take up their new responsibilityafter they ac- cept their posts officially, on the day of the Investiture Ceremony.LEND A HANDHANDFUL OF RICE WITH HEART FULL OF LOVE!A kind gesture! By the students and teachers of GDGPS was shown by donating a handful of rice with heartful of love. Students contributed by donating a handful of Rice for the whole week willbe given to an orphanage or an old age home later on.GREEN HOPE !The Eco Warriors of the school were all geared up for the Tree Plantation Drive in the school premises on, 30th April 2018. The nature’s club inauguration lead students on a nature march wherethey marched reciting the slogans for nature’s importance. Principal, Vice Principal and teacher coordinators also joined for the march with the students. “Unless we are not sincere in respect-ing our trees; we cannot have a healthy world.” That’s the Goenkans going the green way!

CELEBRATION OF RABINDRANATH TAGORE JAYANTIIt was celebrated on---MAY ,18 .AT Early morning our Principal put a garland on the portrait of Rabindranath Tagore .Just after this children sang a melodious Rabindra Sangeet withharmonium .Principal gave a message to the audience for learning great things in life by cultivating the excellence of the great saint .

UNTIE THE RIBBONS STEAM –QUIZON 19th May,18 the quiz began with the introduction of the quiz master and contestants .The rules of the quiz competitions were announced.It was conduct- ed in a very attractive way andthe teams participated with great enthusiasm.They skillfully answered the questions . The audience also got a chance to participate every time if the team answered incorrectly.Every roundwas a mixed bag with questions from Science,Technology,Engineering ,Art and Maths. At the end of the quiz everyone clapped and cheered for the ecstatic winning team. The best part of thequiz was that right from grade 1 to 6 all students participated. Grade 7th were the organizers who sincerely did their job of efficiently organizing it.

HOSTEL – A HOME AWAY FROM HOMEIn hostel various programmes are organized in order to boost confidence of our hostellers and also keep them engaged constructively. Various programmes such as camp fire ,tal-ent day, edutainment, dance drama etc are organized for the students by involving them actively. Besides that theme based dance drama ,birthday celebration ,excursion also keepshappening to give them a feel of “Home away from Home” .School takes every initiative to make them feel at ease in hostel.CAMP FIREWe believe at camp fire youth discover the beautiful things inside of them that make them unique and amazing ,we call this SPARK.Together we are supporting the next generationof leaders,artists ,musicians ,teachers,parents,and visionaries who will go out and make this world better.Students participated in camp fire with zeal and had fun.EXCURSION ------G.D.GOYENKA firmly believes that--- ALL WORK AND NO FUN MAKES A STUDENT’S LIFE DULL . A trip to Waterpark was arranged –MAY,18 .There energetic and enthusiasticstudents were excited and geared up for their fun .No doubt they had an awesome time.

Investiture Ceremony At GDGPS, PurneaInstillation & Swearing in Ceremony of the school cabinet on 15th May 2018 at our school campus Colonel Satish Dixit graced the occasion as the guest ofhonor & Receive the honor salute. For the student leaders it was a memorable day as they received their badges and were adorned with Sashes. The HeadBoy and Head Girl proposed their toast, the guest of honor gave them a short synopsis of their roles. Principal Ma’am administered the oath for the leaders.

SKILL-BASED LEARNING AND INNOVATION LITTLE HANDS CONSTRUCTING THEIR OWN KNOWLEDGEG.D.GOENKA believes in fostering knowledge through skill based education. Here opportunities are given to children toconstruct their own knowledge through various tools and techniques. The school does not believe in the philosophy of rote learn-ing, that is why all learning is done by actively engaging the students for building their concepts. Different tools and techniques likedebate, seminar , symposium and case studies were done in different subjects to let them know that learning can happen throughdifferent means out of which written form is not the only one. Young and fertile minds are allowed to explore and innovate so thatthey get the freedom to expand their horizons of learning. Enrichment and reinforcement is done to challenge the students to nextlevel as well provide help wherever needed.
