PARENT ORIENTATION GDGPSP organized an Orientation Program for the parents of Nursery and Kindergarten to share the school’s vision and commitment towards providing quality education and to show how we ensure that “Every Child is Special” to us through our day to day interaction with each child.ThePre-primary teachers gave an insight into teaching methodology, pattern of assessments and school rules through a brief presentation. They also discussed and shared a few guidelines on effective parenting. One of the objectives of the orientation program was to demonstrate how the curriculum involves self-directed, hands- on learning activities which not only give vent to the child’s creative talents and energies but also help in the all-round holistic development of the child.

FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL The first day of school can be a scary time for kids, especially Kindergarten kids who may have never entered a classroom before. One in four children who starts Kindergarten is not ready for the 1st day in the classroom. Starting school can be exciting as well as stressful for the 3 and 4 year oldsand their parents. Our intention is to make “Starting School” an exciting, successful and a happy experience. A child needs time to get to know the teachers, make new friends, feel at home with a large group, and understand classroom expectations. It’s hard to tell how much time is needed for transition to Kindergarten. Parents need to reassure their children that teachers will help themmake new friends and assist them at every step of their journey towards independence.

When we talk about toys and especially soft toys, the first thing that appears in our minds is a Teddy Bear. Thekids were filled with enthusiasm about their Teddys, whichwas worth watching. It was fascinating to hear the stories they shared about their companions – the Teddys. They exchanged their Teddys amongst friends and learnt to share and appreciate the belongings of others. The atmosphere was one of fun and frolic throughout the day. This is done to promote the feeling of sharing amongst the students. The tiny tots showed their Teddys to their teachers with great enjoyment and also narrated the stories of their teddy’s. It was a light hearted event and everyone had a BEAR-Y GOOD TIME!

BABY’S DAY OUT ‘Baby’s Day Out’ for Kindergarten children was organized at GDGPSP. This fun-filled event was organized to usher in a feeling of sharing, caring and friendly approach amongst the children. It was a day out with their teachers and friends, away from their parents. After having a healthy breakfast served in the school, they went to FUNCITY,Purnea. It wasan exciting endeavour where the students had lots of fun and frolic. They enjoyed the swings and had their meals in the park while chatting with their peers. The outing was planned for the kids to enjoy the natural beauty and to learn to appreciate nature. Everyone had a great time and left reluctantly, wanting for more.

EARTH DAY “Treat the Earth well. It was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children.” – Kenyan proverb Every year, the 22nd of April is celebrated as “Earth Day.” It is celebrated to create awareness regarding protecting our planet and preserving the environment. Saving water, reducing pollution, protecting wildlife, plants and trees, recycling waste are a just few means of saving our environment. Although only one special day is dedicated for this cause, it is the continuous effort of each individual including children that would really make a difference. It is the right time for children to learn about the environment, how and why they should preserve it. Starting early can truly make a difference and inculcate habits they will carry on as they grow. Teachers’ informed the students about the importance of a clean, green and a healthy planet. A special assembly marked the event wherein the students dressed up as trees, water and a recycle bin spread the message of “Savethe Environment!” The enthusiastic preschoolers contributed with their earth-helping ideas and agreed to prioritise the issue of “Protection of Earth.”

Hands School days are fun days and we on make it a fun filled experience for our children. They venture into the vast Learning world of knowledge by performing day to day activities, so we can say learning is growing through experience. The beauty of Kindergarten is that the little hands are always at work to grab the next activity, thus they always learn something new. No wonder, our tiny tots of Kindergarten have engaging hours to enhance various skills & competencies. Our 1st month in Kindergarten was a great success. The boys and girls did a great job of adjusting into their daily routine.

Hands on Learning
