FAMILY WEEK SPECIAL ASSEMBLY Family is the single most important influence in a child's life. From their first moments of life, children depend on parents and family members to protect them and provide for their needs. Our little Goenkans celebrated a special assembly on family week wherein they pasted pictures of their family members on a chart paper and wrote slogans about a happy and peaceful family. They also took the corona pledge and danced with their family members on family themed songs. They indeed spent quality time with their family members. This activity was enjoyed by every student and parent.

FAMILY WEEK SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON DIWALI THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS Diwali is an important festival celebrated in India which symbolises the victory of good over evil. Goenkans celebrated an eco–friendly Diwali with zest and zeal, keeping the joy of the festival intact without burning fireworks. Students of KG conducted a special assembly where they decorated the background with fairy lights and rangoli. They also made handmade earthen lamps which they held during their dance performances. They enthralled us with their graceful moves. The day came to an end with lots of joy and happiness sparkling on the faces of every Goenkan.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON DIWALI THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS The greatest significance of Diwali is to light up new, bright and colourful dreams, fresh hopes and undiscovered paths. The students of grade 1 to 9 also performed the class wise assembly on Diwali. Each class group performed a universal prayer, pledge, news, followed by speech, songs and various dances for Diwali. As a part of the Diwali Celebration the students also participated in the diya making and thali decoration activities which they proudly presented to their parents as their own creation. Colourfully decorated and lit up diyas were presented by student explaining the importance of lights in our life.

CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION BY KG We don’t really have to think of God when we are blessed with the presence of beautiful children around us. The most remarkable day for children commenced with great zeal and enthusiasm. Our children witnessed their teachers presenting a special assembly for them. Our students also played an online memory game on MS Teams wherein few items were displayed by their teachers for a minute and they were asked to recall the objects and name them after being removed from the screen. The child who could recall most number of things was considered as the winner. There were other fun activities that were done on this special occasion and the agenda of the programme was very simple – just to get on with the flow and cherish the moments with our lovely children. We do not require any special day to celebrate the adorable cuteness of kids as every single day is a special day to cherish their charming smiles.

As the nation celebrates the birth anniversary of our first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru and his love for children in the form of Children’s Day, a special assembly was performed by the teachers of G.D Goenka Public School, Purnea for their beloved students. It started with a message to our children by our dear Principal Ma’am. Then our teachers gave messages and blessings to all the children in the form of speech, documentary, dance, song, etc. All the teachers performed enthusiastically. Finally the children were assured that they are loved and valued by all of us. SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON CHILDREN’S DAY

VEGETABLE WEEK CELEBRATION Vegetables provide a wide range of nutrients and bioactive components which play an important role in keeping children healthy and preventing diseases in the later stages of life. With an objective to create and educate our children about the importance of consuming vegetables every day, the youngsters from L.K.G and U.K.G celebrated Vegetable Week. It was inaugurated by displaying a tray of vegetable to the kids. They also made vegetable badge with the help of their family members. They were introduced to two new vegetables every day and different types of activities were held like vegetable making with the help of flour, vegetable guessing game, potato block painting and vegetable song. They also had the same vegetable curry for dinner that they were introduced to on that particular day. Teachers explained and delivered a speech on each vegetable throughout the week along with their benefits, importance and where they grow. On the closing day of Vegetable Week, they prepared tasty delicious vegetable dishes and enjoyed having it with their family members for dinner. All the children were found to be quite thrilled and were positive about the fact that vegetables are better than junk food.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON THANKSGIVING DAY It is not the happy people who are thankful. It is the thankful people who are happy! Through this special assembly, the students paid tribute to their teachers and other people. They acknowledged the crucial role that their teachers play in making sure that every student learns the age appropriate skills and make them ready to move on to the next grade. The students also thanked the helpers in the school who keep the school premises neat and clean and help in various tasks every day. The assembly was performed class wise in a group that performed a universal prayer, pledge and speech on the importance of thanksgiving using props.

CAREER GUIDANCE WEBINAR FOR GRADE 9 A career guidance webinar was organised on MS Teams platform for the children of grade 9 to identify their real potential and guide them towards a right career path. Other than a doctor, an engineer or an IAS, there are many other professions depending on the interest and creativity hidden in a child. The webinar was headed by Ma’am Girija Nair(degree in Physics and instrumentation) and Sir Barun Anand (B.Tech in Computer Science). Almost all the students participated in the webinar. At first the kids were little curious and apprehensive but as ma’am spoke, all their apprehensions disappeared. Students were asked to register on kindlecareer.com and were directed to give the aptitude test which will help them find out their interests as well as their strengths and weaknesses. It was an earnest endeavour of the school to carry out career counselling for our children so that they can choose the right stream and aim for the right goal in the near future.

VIDEO JOCKEY In order to enhance the personality and confidence of our students, we indulge and involve them in our video jockey show called “Khatti Meethi Baatein”. Parent Testimonial Hi, I am Dr.Rinki, mother of Jaisnavi Jaya. This year has been a challenge with unusual circumstances like Covid 19 and the way GD Goenka Public School, Purnea has restructured the entire curriculum to suit the online learning needs is highly commendable. Jaisnavi's teacher has made a wonderful impact on her. I am very thankful to the school and teachers whose contribution is really appreciable. My daughter is engaged in homework and activities. I really appreciate the efforts put by faculty members because Jaisnavi has learned a lot in this class. However, online class has been a challenging one for everyone in their personal and professional domain. As a working parent with two small kids, we had been very anxious as to how this will go.Afterall, the experience has been challenging, but everyone is trying to adapt to this situation gradually. Thank you. Regards, Rinki, Mother of Jaisnavi Jaya

Student Testimonial I am Shaiwal deep. I thank my teachers who have provided us online classes during this pandemic situation. It has given me more than I expected. Without online classes we can face boredom and loneliness. It's a great way of interaction between teachers and students. Thank you, Shaiwal deep Grade-8 “A”

Parent Testimonial Online classes are really helpful to kids as they can interact with their teachers during the pandemic situation. Rather than sitting idle and wasting time. My ward is always trying to learn new things through online classes. I also appreciate the efforts of teachers who are giving time and energy to facilitate them. Thanks and regards Surendra Kumar Parents of Shaiwal deep(Grade 8 “A”)

Student Testimonial I am Ankit Agarwal of grade '8B'. I think the online classes are going very well as online education enables teachers and students to set their own learning space, and it also adds flexibility of setting a schedule that fits everyone's agenda and it makes the things easy for me to follow. And now we have class test for every subject per week, which creates a sense of competition amongst us. The online classes have been totally enriched and helpful. We learn about the topic very clearly and do not feel overloaded. The concept in every subject is explained in a very good manner and our doubts are also being cleared regularly. If any student faces network issues during online classes, the teachers make sure to record every class so that the student can go through the same whenever required. Thank you! Regards, Ankit Agarwal

Parent Testimonial I am the mother of Ankit Agrawal. I would like to express my opinion about online classes. It is very beneficial for student. No doubt, during the pandemic era, it is like a boon for students. If online classes had not been going on then every student would have to face a lot of difficulties to cope with their syllabus because nobody knows presently how much time it would take to come out from this pandemic situation. I especially want to thank the honourable director, dedicated teachers and the entire team of GD Goenka Public School, Purnea for the praiseworthy and outstanding deeds. It is true example of digital India format. We are completely satisfied with online classes and I hope that all the students including my child will continue to benefit from online classes. Thank you! Regards, Jyoti Agarwal (Mother of Ankit Agarwal)
