KARATE COLOUR BELT GRADINGAs with many martial arts, a belt system is used in GDGPS to show theprogress and proficiency of students. ASSEMBLIES Assemblies are an important feature of School’s routine. They also form a significant part of the school’s curriculum. They are a means to create a positive, reflective ethos and promote value-based education. They powerfully nurture the development of intrapersonal intelligence. All students assemble at the beginning of the school day in one place, usually in the school hall where prayers are held, news is read out, and instructions are given. Sometimes, students are required to deliver a speech or the Principal makes some announcement, if necessary. It provides us with a good opportunity to get together. It is a symbol of unity of our school. It helps us to cultivate a sense of belonging towards our school. Morning assembly is very important to remove the stage fear from the children. The assembly is divided into three categories kindergarten, primary & middle. The junior wing has classes Nursery to K.G. each child is given an opportunity to speak. Through in Kindergarten the kids are small yet we teach them how to be confident even at their tender age. With this ideology we have the assembly of our junior and senior school. They prepare skit that is based on the value of the month. This month we had a special presentation on “Guru Nanak Jayanti” by grade V and we were back on air with our radio programme“ KathiMeethiBaatein” presenting “waves of resonance” where the students of grade III and IV put up these shows.

ASSEMBLIES IN PROGRESS

HOUSE BOARD DECORATIONS Bulletin boards are an important component of classrooms. They provide a platform to introduce new material or showcase student work. Educators should create boards that are equally engaging and educational. The use of interactive boards in the classroom ensures that students recognize the importance of the posted materials. An eye-catching bulletin board will build interest in every student. Educators should strive to create bulletin boards that introduce new concepts in an exciting way. Bulletin boards appeal to the visual side of learning for students. To build interest, educators should decorate the boards before a new concept is discussed with the class. Students' curiosity will begin to build and they will be more likely to pay attention to the lesson. Similarly last Wednesday of every month house board decoration is done by the Students of different house named as Radhakrishna, Vivekananda, Teresa and Tagore. Each house decorates their housesboard with different write-ups and images based on the theme. This month theme was “Citius, Altius and Fortius” which means Higher Stronger and Brighter and the value of the month was “Resilience” which taught the children about overcoming difficult situations.

SENTENCE OF THE DAYThe better vocabulary we have, the easier we candescribe our thoughts in a particular language.Students tend to struggle with certain difficult wordsbecause they do not know their meaning or usageproperly and thus, cannot use them in their sentencesor while speaking. This leads to loosing of marks dueto incorrect grammar or displays their lack ofknowledge in English. For this improvement ‘Thesentence of the Day’ is given every day by the Classteacher in each Class. The Sentence is based on theValue of the Month which inculcates the importanceof value in Students. It also enhances their writing aswell as their cognitive skills. The Teachers urge thestudents to come up with new sentences every day.Students also show their interest and practice thesentence.

CONSTRUCTIVE 0 PERIODS All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy. Extracurricular activities are defined as those activities which are not the components of academic curriculum but an integral part of educational environment. Extracurricular activities comprise sports, singing, music, debate, dance, drama, social services, etc. Schools can play a pivotal role by channelizing energy of both normal as well as physically challenged students into a fruitful direction leading to optimum personality development through extra-curricular activities. Different activities are conducted on different days. a. Subject enrichment is conducted on Monday and Friday for the development of different levels of learners (i) Gifted learner (ii) Involved learner (iii) Attention seeker. Three different levels of worksheets are given to the students which enhance their cognitive skills and helps to identify the areas where the students are lagging behind; accordingly, teachers prepare their action plan and implement it. Every Tuesday during their Activity period students practice: b. DEAR TIME (Drop everything and read) During this activity period the teacher enhances the reading skills of the children by helping them to read with proper pronunciation and intonation. It also helps in developing their vocabulary skills. Every Thursday during the zero period “Shramdaan” is practiced. Here, the children are encouraged to clean their classes and maintain hygiene. These activities teach students how to keep their belongings and surrounding clean.
