Environment day celebration Our kids celebrated Environment day. They focused on the need to save resources and reconnect with nature. They dressed up like plants and vegetables. They also spoke about ways they can save nature. It was a very good way to encourage awareness amongst our kids regarding protecting our environment.

WELCOMING THE RAINY SEASON SPECIAL ASSEMBLY Rain makes everything beautiful. Our kids welcomed the rainy season with a special assembly. They delivered a heartwarming speech and spoke about the rainy season. They also danced and sang a rain song. They made posters about the rain and learnt about the benefits of monsoon in India. Such assemblies make students outspoken and teaches them some essential core values. KG DOLL HOUSE

KIDDIES CLUB FORMATION Our kids are budding leaders. Therefore, we encourage our kids to handle and deal with certain responsibilities. We formed our kiddies club where the little Goenkans were given certain designations. They took the oath and explained how they would try to do justice to their posts. They were given sashes for recognition. They also danced and performed march-past. We hope that they will work and manage all responsibilities associated with the post. It will help them become confident and outspoken leaders.

MANGO WEEK CELEBRATION Our little Goenkans welcomed the season of Mangoes with lots of love and excitement. They dressed up like mangoes, performed a skit, sang and danced in a mango song. They also spoke about the different varieties of mangoes and their origin. In the end, they also had a virtual mango shake party. These kind of celebrations are good examples of fun with learning.

What’s happening in the Online Classroom? As we mentioned earlier, lockdown couldn’t stop our angels from learning and growing. Our babies have been studying and learning as per their course and syllabus. We send them videos and audios explaining the concept of each and every topic. We send them worksheets and also keep in touch with them by calling them each and every day. We personally interact with the students so that they also develop their speaking skills.

INNOVATIONS By little hands “Innovation is important for growth.” Innovation means implementing new ideas and creating something different with it. Something that has never been made before or the process of creating something that is unknown and unidentified. Our little angels make innovations according to what has been taught in their online classes. It helps them look at the topic from a different point of view. This makes them more confident about what they know.

SENTENCE OF THE DAY DURING CIRCLE TIME Circle time is a great way for our KG kids to get a sense of community with other kids of their age and enhance their skills and improve their attention span. At GDGPS, KG kids start each day with circle time. It helps the children to learn how to form a sentence as they are made to say a sentence each day during circle time. • Eg: London is the capital of England. • Lion is the national animal of England. • The national flower of England is Tudor rose. • The national bird of England is Robin. • The currency of England is called pound sterling. • The name of our country is India. • India is in Asia continent. • The national animal of India is Royal Bengal Tiger. • The national flower of India is Lotus. • The national bird of India is peacock. • The currency of India is rupee. • The colour of the national flag of India is saffron, white, green. • The capital of Switzerland is Bern. • The national flower of Switzerland is Edelweiss. • The national bird of Switzerland is Turaco. • The national currency of Switzerland is Swiss franc. • Matterhorn is the most famous mountain in Switzerland. • The national tree of Switzerland is yew tree.

MORNING ASSEMBLY DURING LOCKDOWN Morning assemblies are like prayers where students gather to feel fresh, energetic and start their day with positivity. Our little masters are performing morning assembly with their parents regularly and recording videos. The assembly includes morning prayer followed by theme song, pledge, speech, G.K questions, rhymes, and a phonic song. The best assembly is awarded as Galaxy Assembly and the student is awarded with a certificate. This helps in improving their presentation and speaking skills. Special assemblies performed by students this month were Welcome to rainy season, Mango day special assembly,

PARENT’S VOICE Hi I am Shaishta, mother of Myra Gurumaita of U.K.G. Today I want to share my views and experience regarding online classes. As a parent I am very satisfied with the curriculum which is very well designed and encourages students to become confident and grooms their personality. It is always better to do something instead of doing nothing at all. I appreciate the management and the teacher/ faculty members of GDGPS Purnea for putting their efforts into online classes as they are making PDF and sending PPT and downloading chapters and taking inquiry of each and every student. It is a very good option during this tough time. Taking the online classes has been a very welcome move for students as well as the parents and as a parent I am also been learning a lot from the classes. It is also giving me an opportunity to work more closely with my children. Parents are learning new things and children are also grasping more as they understand their mother’s language fast. It enhances the creativity and confidence. I truly appreciate the efforts and this initiative that has been taken at this period of lockdown. I would like to thank all the faculty members of GDGPS Purnea for giving us this opportunity to learn and grow together. So, thank you so much once again.

STAR STUDENT OF THE MONTH Each month a student in every class is recognised as star student of the month for their outstanding performance. Since, it’s an online mode of learning, we have set certain parameters for the students to be selected as star student of the month. Every student, regardless of their ability, can be a star. Work hard and be a star next month. L.K.G. STAR STUDENT: ISMAIL AZAM U.K.G. STAR STUDENT: KRISHANG RAJ
