TIMETABLE EXPLAINED You will have a timetable which will look something like this. It will tell you which subject you are doing, when, the room you need to be in and the name of your teacher. Don’t worry about finding your way around - there will always be lots of you heading for the same room.The timetable runs over two weeks, and each week will be different. HOME LEARNING Home Learning Home learning is a vital Some tasks will be quite short, such as learning skill. HOSUYSSETEM Our House System is designed to promote our Academy’s values and ethos into everything that we do, including developing a sense of House Identity. THE HOUSES We have 3 Houses; they are: Griffins – Noble, fearsome and protective Phoenix – Energetic, adventurous & clever Titans – Strong, powerful & knowledgeable EARNING HOUSE POINTS Throughout the academic year students can earn points for their house. House Points are awarded in 3 categories, our Academy’s values: Enjoy – participating in events; volunteering to help the Academy with tours, open day etc; attending extra-curricular clubs Respect – supporting your peers with their learning; raising awareness for charity work; respecting your facilities Achieve – completing work to your target grade or higher; giving 100% effort day in day out; achieving 100% attendance each term City Academy Norwich Transition Guide — 13

BFOEHRALVEIAORUNRING This behaviour management system is based on the principle AFTER that no student has the right to disrupt the learning of other DESTCEHNOTOILON students. It is designed to allow the teacher to teach and deal effectively with low level disruption in the classroom. THE CONSEQUENCE PROCESS C1 First misbehaviour – warning. C2 Second misbehaviour – recorded final warning. PLEASE NOTE, IF STUDENTS STOP THEIR POOR BEHAVIOUR AT THIS POINT THEN NO FURTHER PENALTIES WILL BE APPLIED.THEY WILL START AFRESH IN THE NEXT LESSON Parents/carers will be informed that behaviour marks have been issued to their child in a lesson.We ask parents to discuss this with their child and guide them to make the right choices in future. C3 Third misbehaviour – removal from lesson and 20 minute detention at the end of that day. Parents/carers will be informed of the sanction. C4 Failure to attend the end of day detention leads to a 40 minute detention the next day. Parents will be informed C5 Further misbehaviour during C3 partner class – student sent to the Inclusion Room. Parents will be informed through text message.A phone call with their leader of year will follow. SAFER SCHOOLS OFFICER The Safer Schools Partnerships (SSP) PC LUCY helps to keep students safe, reduce the CAMPBELL risk of young people getting drawn into crime, anti-social or extremist behaviour, CITY ACADEMY and improve the safety of the school site NORWICH SAFER and surrounding area. SCHOOLS OFFICER Our Safer Schools Officer is PC Lucy Campbell, a police officer in the Norfolk Constabulary. SHE SUPPORTS: – The safety of pupils and staff, as well as the school site and surrounding area – Young people in dealing with situations that may put them at risk of becoming victims of crime, bullying or intimidation, and providing support to those experiencing these things – Early identification, support, and, where necessary, challenging pupils involved in, or at risk of, offending – Improved standards of pupil behaviour and attendance, lessening the need for exclusions – Improving relations between young people and the police, and between young people and the wider community – Effectively approaching issues beyond the school site that negatively impact on pupil safety and behaviour City Academy Norwich Transition Guide — 19
