I am overjoyed that you have subscribed and are still with us as we work tirelessly to bring you informative and educational content that covers what we have done, and what we are doing! This year is exciting because our target goal focuses on our Eta 2.0 initiative. What an extraordinary time it is to be an Eta! I am so proud of these ladies. I get the best seat in the house to watch them grow and develop in our organization. I get to bear witness to what God is doing in and through their lives! I am elated at where He is taking all of us this year and beyond! I am also very exited to announce that not only are we bringing our newsletter back into rotation, but we are changing the schedule from quarterly to biannually! This change brings more efficiency and substance to the content you read. It ensures that we bring you the most current news and information so that you remain in the 'know' of all things Eta! THE NL-ZETA CLASS SPRING 2019'S NL-ZETA A NEW PEACOCK HAS LANDED INTAKE CLASS REFLECTIONS BY ETA ALPHA SORORITY BY ETA ALPHA SORORITY On June 21, 2019, Eta Alpha welcomed a powerful women into our fold. Her journey began in February and what a journey it turned out to be! She Soror Sharon V. Jackson approached each turn with fortitude, strength, endurance and trust in her faith- walk, her pursuit, and her leadership to see her through toward the Land of Pi. originally born in New Orleans, We cannot be more proud of what she accomplished and how hard she Louisiana, is the third and youngest worked to get where she is today. We are even more proud to call her a Sister child of her family. Having come from of Eta for she exemplifies the qualities necessary to own such a prestigious a family who is strongly rooted in the title. Sharon was afforded the opportunity to develop a love for speech and debate BY ETA ALPHA SORORITY participating in several academic games, competitively. She enjoyed #2 SOROR SHARON V. JACKSON learning of and experiencing the Line Name: Queen2cential performing arts through dance, Hometown: New Orleans, Louisiana marching in mardi gras parades with Location: Atlanta, Georgia the flag team, and as a cheerleader. Affiliation: OES After graduating from high school, Occupation: IT related Agile, SCRUM, and Sharon was awarded the Louisiana Kanban leadership 18+ years State Board of Director’s Full Scholarship to college where she attended the University of New Orleans where she studied Business Administration. Through her collegiate years, she learned about and begain to experience much more of what a diverse world we truly live in. Her love of the arts allowed her the opportunity to learn about different cultures which sparked her love for travel. Sharon went on to become a mother to two beautiful queens who she is tirelessly working to give a spirit of success, inclusion, and adventure to. In addition to experiencing some of what the world had to offer her, she became a member of several women’s groups that focused on God, community, and women’s empowerment. Although Sharon lived life in the world’s most entertaining city with the best food, God had other plans....(continue on page 14)

God sent hurricane Katrina in her life to wash away the old and bring her into the new life He prepared for her in Atlanta, GA. Sharon rebuilt her life and the lives of her parents and children under some of the most extreme circumstances and situations there. But by the grace of God and relying only on God, Sharon and her family were able to regain their footing and settled their roots. Sharon, her parents, and her children rebuilt their lives and moved on to better opportunities. She currently works as a IT Project Manager, a career she has spent over twenty years to develop. She has also traveled extensively and been afforded many impactful life experiences. She learned of the world of running and races by accidentally walking through a race expo in the downtown New Orleans area on her lunch break and little did she know that the day she asked the question, “what if?”, she set one of the greatest dreams of her life in motion. Sharon V. Jackson As fate would have it, she has developed a very lucrative and impactful love of running after moving to Atlanta. She has had the pleasure of serving as a run lead of her local Black Girls Run group. She has taken the opportunity to build a new diverse life through various women’s organizations and groups locally as she had at home in New Orleans. She is active in community organizations such as Destiny’s Daughters of Purpose coordinating mentors for middle and high school girls and she is now a member of this illustrious Sorority of women who are \"giving of themselves in servitude and love\". She now has a new way of living for God and community through our Sorority which brings the love of God to the community. She actively seeks opportunities to address our Sorority’s Foci and hopes one day to see our legacy realized all over the world. She is completely obsessed with all things Mickey Mouse and visits Disney World almost every year. She loves God, life, and encouraging others through her examples to LIVE AND LOVE EVERY MINUTE.
