ETA ALPHA SORORITY REFLECTIONS SOROR DAWN WASHINGTON\"Crying out to God, but learning that our pain is often God’s classroom. Do we really believe that Godcan fulfill his purposes through our pain? These two statements really pulled at my heartstrings. I have had so much pain in my life from friends tofamily to even dealing with myself. I often asked God why me and did he love me. I think I’m a genuinelygood person and I give so much to others but it is not always reciprocated. As a result I hurt. I do believethat God can fulfill His purpose through my pain. I am able to tell others how to get through things. I lookback over this past year and realize that I have become so much stronger hence, I believe that Godheard my cry. It still gets hard sometimes but I’m pressing my way everyday.I found I was able to learn my strength through this process. While it was not easy, I was forced to facemyself. I was given my reflection in how I identified with things or in how I approached things and I didnot always like what I saw. However, it taught me how to see things clearer and I can appreciate that. Ican reflect on the bond that I formed with my line sister (LS). My LS and I were always close but thisprocess bought us closer. We have developed a bond that can never be broken because we both knowGod brought us together.I can honestly say this process is not an easy one. Only the strong survives. I recommend anyone whois interested in membership with us to go to our website and learn all you can on our About Us page. Iequally recommend you to join in on our virtual and in-person events. This will help you make a soliddecision on whether this is the organization for you.I am proud to have crossed the black sands into the Land of Pi! I am proud to wear these letters andchallenge anyone who is God-fearing, God-led, passionate about service and support for God's peopleand passionate about doing God's work to RSVP for any events you see on our calendar and join us asmuch as you can. Eta Alpha is where its at! I am a proud Peacock. Peacock taaaaaaaaaaaails UP!\"

ETA ALPHA SORORITY REFLECTIONS SOROR LESLIE LORFILS\"It is impossible to get exhausted in work for God. We get exhausted because we try to do God’s work inour own way.\" –Oswald Chambers\"We have become each other‘s burden bearers in each others lives. At this appointed time, this journeywas ordained for the specific purpose of reminding me to ask for help when needed as this is my lifelonggoal. I am reminded that I do have a support system all around me and that it is okay to ask for help. Inthe end, I am trying to lighten my load so that I can be as effective as possible and provide impact whereit’s most needed. My Sorors have shown me that we are truly family and that we will help each other tostay the course.A favorite verse that I always reflected on during my process and my pursuit of ETA is Proverbs 35:6which says, \"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all thy waysacknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.\" This is absolutely one of my favorite verses that keptme and sustained me. It helped me to keep my eyes on the prize even when there were times that Ithought I was not going to make it. A quote that I was reflected on from time to time is in reference toleadership. The author states, \"If you lead wisely, you will be obeyed cheerfully\". I thought this wasimportant because in Eta Alpha Sorority we are Leaders, Movers and Shakers. Part of being a greatleader is being a great powerhouse. Part of being a great leader is being able to motivate people into acertain direction to accomplish a common goal.Lastly, Philippians 4:13 which says, \"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me\", reallyresonates with me. It permeates every aspect of my life from being a mother and an Army Soldier, afriend, a professional, a sister and aunt, and a Christian. There were many times life hit me hard duringmy quest for ETA. In the end, God sustained me and gave me the strength I needed it to endure. As Ilook back, I am so humbled and I am so honored to be a part of such a wonderful organization! I lookforward to propelling us to the next level and continuing to attract women from all walks of life who comewith gifts and talents ready to serve the Kingdom of God!\"
