Make your legacy take flight. Be 1 of the 100! Pathway to the CentennialCentennial 2016

The Main Building, c. 1930

Your Campus. Your Legacy. Each generation of students has benefited from the generosity of their predecessors and now, with our 100th birthday fast-approaching, we are asking our entire community - the ShawniganFamily - to help shape the School’s second century. For nearly a century, students from around the world have come to Shawnigan in search of a first-class education that prepares them for success in whatever direction life takes them. From the humblest of origins emerged a school that has earned the right to be counted among thevery finest in the world. Today’s Shawnigan includes students from across Canada and more thanthirty countries around the world. Every September they arrive to be inspired by a group of first-class educators committed to developing the mind, body and soul. And each June, more than 100Shawnigan journeys draw to a close in the Kaye Gardens, with each new graduate passing throughour gates for the final time equipped with the knowledge and skills required to be successful inwhatever endeavour they choose. What was once a dense rainforest has been transformed into a campus of unsurpassed beauty.Nine modern residences are complemented by academic, athletic and creative facilities that aretruly first-class. The focal points of the Shawnigan experience, meanwhile, are the places that affordthe opportuntiy to gather as a community, including the iconic Chapel, where we gather to share, reflect and learn three times a week; Marion Hall, the School’s dining facility that must be seen tobe believed; and the Main Building, the oldest building on campus, that is being reimagined as theLearning Commons, a home of academic excellence for our next century. But while the physicalmakeup of the campus has changed, Shawnigan’s mission, vision and values have endured.

The Pathway to the CentennialThe Centennial Pathway initiative is your opportunity to leave your mark on this campus forever. It will also allow Shawnigan to complete our Centennial Plan and at the same time maximizethe funding necessary to offer students our unique style of education, regardless of financialcircumstance. In recognition of your gift of $25,000 to the Learning Commons (Main Building) project, you willbe honoured with a stone on the Centennial Pathway. Stone locations will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and can commemorate an individual, a House year or a graduating classyear. They may also be used to honour the memory of a loved one or an individual who made animpact on your experience as a student. This is your chance to be a part of an exclusive group of supporters. Celebrate your uniqueconnection with Shawnigan and ensure its success for our next one hundred years and beyond.Roland Borsato ’72 The Class of Ripley’s House Robertson 1962 Family
