1. Open the jack-keyboard program

2. Set the dropdown box connected to as amsynth midi_in

3. In the MIDI Tab, the jack-keyboard output connects to the amsynth input

4. At this point we have three virtual synthesizers with independent keyboards up and running

Record and edit audio, and play live sessions

In KXStudio, we can do that with ArdourTo perform live sessions we can install Ableton Live and its requirements with Wine orPlayOnLinux, or use the program Luppp (with MIDI)This is a picture of an Ardour project

Here are the Ardour connections of a finished tune

Every recording, edition or live session requires connection changes in JACK. I have producedmany tutorials and howtos on those topics

How does Jack bus work?

Jack works as a new layer inserted in the Linux Audio StackThe applications using Jack connect to the JACK BUS

The ALSA Stack with JackALSA stands for Advanced Linux Sound Architecture

Most of the Audio Players aren't interrupted by Jack with the ALSA Audio Bridge is turned on.Otherwise we can use SMPlayer (FFMPEG) or another player with JACK capabilities to do notturn JACK off before play audio files such as finished mp3 files

Multiple custom studios with Claudia

Rather than in the non-virtual studios, in KXStudio we can save the states of multiple customstudios for different purposes by following several simple steps

The steps are:1. Open Cadence2. Go to Claudia and save the current Studio name and configuration

The new studio is ready to work and the setup process has to be made just one timeWe can re-open different custom studios by clicking on their names, since Claudia

In conclusion, to be part of the today's world of audio we need to re-think the way we define ourstudio environment constantly, according to the requirements for every new project...

...This process usually involves REAL or virtual racks full of mixers and effects boxes, programs, musical instruments and microphones, etc., making the studio setup a difficult task to complete...

...Linux based Audio Home Studios such as KXStudio came up to resolve a lot these difficulties...

...With this type of computer software, we save money, time and room space. Thanks to them wecan set up and run our own custom scalable Audio Home Studio in a few hours, just by followinglittle steps like the ones described in this guide.
