I have been capturing the world around me for well over 12 years and have gained many insights from my travels and adventures. I first learned about nature and the appreciation of it through my father and the many camping and hiking trips we took throughout New England when I was growing up in Eastern Massachusetts. I took my first photography class with my father’s old Canon AE-1 program when I was in college when I was unsure about pursuing an art degree. From that class an evolution began and I learned tradi- tional techniques that eventually evolved to meet digital practices and applica- tions. Years later and with a professional digital camera, I still have the same appreciation and concerns about the natural world and resources around us. The preservation and observations of our surrounding environments and places is what I hope to show you. My goal is to have you feel a sense of the time, places and moments I have seen and felt. The split second of the shutter closing in the camera and the in-between moments thereafter, evoke this feel- ing or idea I hope to illustrate in my work.
