Our History In 1980 Jack Hamilton, the founder of Florida Center for Recovery (FCR), began his sobriety and a brand new chapter in his life. Propelled by his hope for life and his strong belief in addicts helping other addicts, Jack felt that he needed to do something to help others who were struggling with addiction. By simply bringing addicts home, providing them shelter, meals, and guidance through the facilitation of AA and NA meetings, Jack started a dynamic recovery community in New York and brought Narcotics Anonymous meetings to local NY communities. Excited with the positive results and wanting to help more people than he could fit in his living room, Jack officially established his first addiction treatment center in 1995 – a 50-bed drug and alcohol treatment facility on Long Island, and subsequently in 2002, Florida Center for Recovery – a 72-bed detox and rehab center in Florida. Jack passed away in 2010, leaving us with an incredible legacy far beyond anything he had imagined. We like to remember him as the man who dedicated his life to helping others achieve the freedom he achieved through recovery and sobriety.

Located on 12 private acres on the beautiful Treasure Coast of Florida, FCR offers inpatient treatment programs with variable lengths of stay, which allows each client to anchor recovery behaviors needed for lasting change. MILITARY & FIRST RESPONDERS PROGRAM FCR’s Military/First Responders rehab program is tailored to address the specific obstacles encountered by this segment of service providers. This program includes treatment for work-related traumatic events, depression, and anxiety. As a result of our comprehensive understanding of these community's unique needs, we’ve created a curriculum specifically designed to address their unique challenges. CHRONIC RELAPSE PROGRAM Our Chronic Relapse Program is designed for individuals who have struggled to maintain recovery despite their previous attempts in treatment. We assess each client’s high-risk situations and develop individualized treatment plans. This treatment track incorporates evidence-based practices with historically proven methods such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Therapy (RET), 12-Step integration, Motivational Interviewing, and positive peer culture. The customized treatment plan provided by this track is based on the whole person assessment which includes the unified support of the family GanOdRSotKhIe-Cr EsNuAppPoSr®t systems available to the individual. We also utilize the Model of Relapse Prevention Therapy which heavily emphasizes focusing upon the identification, appropriate labeling, communication and resolution of feelings and emotions.

PREGNANT WOMEN PROGRAM Florida Center for Recovery offers detox and comprehensive drug and alcohol rehab programs for pregnant women in a nurturing and compassionate environment. Our clinical and medical addiction treatment services are individualized and tailored specifically for each woman. We understand the unique challenges that come with pregnancy and addiction. Our experienced staff is here to support and guide you from OBGYN Care to Parenting Classes. We take pride in providing the treatment and the support that an expectant mother needs for a chance to live a life of sobriety.
