Inspired by this issue’s theme of ‘Eternity’, This Humid House’s finished botanic sculpture is titled ‘Forms of Want’. It features only three materials: rocks, moss and banana stems. The simplicity of each element—commonly found and often used—conveys how it is the little things that are most enduring. The grounding provided by the rocks is cloaked in the verdant green of the moss, which is in turn wrapped by the stems of a banana plant. It is a tribute to the works of Christo and Jeanne-Claude (‘L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped’), who appropriated everyday objects by depriving them of their function and placing them under wraps to preserve them for posterity. 186
