¿Cómo siempre me perdí? Aladdin! Aladdin! Hansel: Gretel. Gretel: ¡no somos huérfanos! No huérfanos. Muy bien. Aún no ayuda. Gretel: ¡espera! Hansel: Bueno… Gretel: No, Hansel. Déjame contar la historia. Hansel: Bien.
Hansel: Apenas escapamos. Gretel: ¿No nos ayudas? Ingles: Hansel: We’ve finally escaped after all of this time! I am exhausted. Gretel: I know, this feels like a dream. I can’t even believe what we went through was real. So am I, I feel as fatigued as ever. Hansel: This was just so unexpected. I can’t believe how evil our stepmother is. Gretel: It is gross. Just… (Stops speaking because they both see Genie out of the corner of their eye) Genie: Oh man, oh man. How do I always get lost? Aladdin! Aladdin! Hansel: Gretel. What is that thing? Gretel: It’s a Genie, Hansel. I have never seen one in person but I’ve read about them in old books. Genie: That’s right, little girl, I am a Genie. I’m also sure you’ve heard I grant wishes, but not for you!
Hansel: Hey! Why not! Genie: Because my royal owners’ name is Aladdin, not orphan one and two. Gretel: We are not orphans! The reason we’re in these woods all alone is that our evil stepmother left us here after convincing our father that we were too much of a burden and would all starve if they didn’t get rid of us. Hansel: See, you don’t even know how much we have been through. Genie: So what. Your not orphans. Good for you. Still not helping. Gretel: Wait! You have not even heard the worst part yet. Genie: (Sarcastically) How could this story be any more tragic? Hansel: Well… Gretel: No, Hansel. Let me tell the story. Hansel: Fine. Gretel: In a nutshell, we came across a house made out of candy, cakes, and other sweets. Genie: In the woods? Does that not raise a red flag for you? Gretel: Anyway. A witch lived in this house, and brought us in, was kind, and seemed to only be helping us out of pity. After a day or so, however, she turned into a cold, scary woman. Genie: Well she is a witch. Hansel: Was a witch. Gretel: She made us do all the cooking, cleaning, sweeping, dusting, and so much more. Hansel: All because we rang that stupid doorbell. Gretel: She planned to eat us and was plumping Hansel up, but when she made me get the oven ready to cook Hansel, I pushed her in it instead. Hansel: We hardly escaped. Gretel: Won’t you help us.
Gretel: ¡Espera! ¡Por favor! Vamos a hacer cualquier cosa. Genie: ¿Cualquier cosa? ¿Como cual? Gretel: Este, o sea… Hansel: Vamos a dejarlo, Gretel. No necesitamos su ayuda. Gretel: ¡No estoy de acuerdo! No tiene desánimo todavía. Genie, no vamos a alargar esto. Si puedo ganar tu corazón, ¿nos ayudará? Genie: Alto ahi. ¡Tu no tienes ninguna idea!
Me he soportado por demasiado tiempo. Genie: ¡Cállense! Ingles: Genie: Why should I help you? Hansel: I don’t know, maybe because we’re kids? We’re all alone, and you should take care of us? Shouldn’t you be worried about our safety? Genie: Sorry, but I’m not in the position to take care of children. You guys are not my problem. See ya! Gretel: Wait! Please! We’ll do anything. Genie: Anything? Like what? Gretel: Like…. I’ll go on a date with you. (Genie and Hansel are confused/grossed out) Hansel: Gretel, are you flirting with him? Why? This isn’t funny. Gretel: Trust me. If I can win his affection, he will help us. Genie: You know I can hear you, right? Hansel: Let’s leave him, Gretel. We don’t need his help. Gretel: I disagree! Don’t be discouraged yet. Genie, let’s not drag this out. If I can win your heart, will you help us? Genie: Stop. Take into consideration our age difference. You are a literal child. This is gross. I appreciate your spirit, but please don’t be inappropriate. Hansel: Gretel, you’re depressing me. I’m sick of you! This was a terrible idea, and now he’ll never help us. Gretel: Stop being annoying. You have no ideas! All you’re doing is rejecting mine. Calm down.
Genie: Children, stop arguing. Please leave me alone. (Hansel and Gretel ignore Genie) Hansel: After all we have overcome, you expect me to be calm and sensible? I just want to have a second to breathe. Gretel: You are so immature. I have put up with you for way too long. Genie: Shut up!
Gretel: No estaría tan seguro. Hansel: Soy un campeón de ajedrez. Genio Veremos quién es el verdadero campeón. (El estadio se construye a su alrededor. Hansel y Gretel están asombrados. Avance rápido a ellos jugando ajedrez.) Ingles: Genie: So it is my help you want? Gretel: Yes. Hansel: Yes! Genie: Well then. If it is my help you want, you have to prove you are worthy. Gretel: And how can we do that? Genie: By beating me in the most competitive game there ever was. Chess! Hansel: Chess! Haha! Gretel: What is this elementary school? Genie: No. It is a game of wit and skill. Something I have a lot of, and you do not. Gretel: So what if we do win?
Hansel: Yeah! Genie: If you beat me, which you won’t, I will help you. Gretel: Okay, I like this wager. Genie: We will do it in an arena with one hundred thousand seats to see how comfortable you guys are. I will bring a referee, and we’ll be treated as athletes. Hansel: Wait, what! Genie: Hopefully this is fun and I don’t get bored. That would be a travesty. Maybe I’ll have a bullfight be the main event since people may not like our chess game. Gretel: A bullfight? Genie: That is what I said. Do you accept my challenge? (Hansel and Gretel contemplate) Hansel: Yes! Gretel: Yes, and when we win, we will celebrate! Genie: In your dreams. I will defeat you with ease. Gretel: I wouldn’t be so sure. Hansel: I am a chess champion. Genie We’ll see who the real champion is. (The stadium builds around them. Hansel and Gretel are in awe. Fast forward to them playing chess.)
Estoy aburrido. A mi no me gusta trasnochar. Genie: Pero no estoy nervioso…. ¡Creo que tengo un ataque cardiaco! Gretel: ¿Qué? Hansel, ¡pienso que está desmayando! (Genie se cae) Hansel: ¿Qué hacemos? ¡No soy un cirujano! Gretel: Necesitamos permanecer tranquilos. Hansel: Te desmayaste. Genie: ¿Me lastimé? Gretel: Creo que no. ¿Estás experimentando algún malestar? Genie: Me siento mareado… tengo dolor de cabeza…
No queremos empeorarlo. Genie: Mi cabeza empeora. (La cabeza de Genie explota) Hansel:..... ¿Qué pasó? Gretel: ¿Viste eso? Siento que estoy perdiendo mi cordura. Hansel: Llama a la sala de emergencias. ¡Necesita cirugía! Gretel: ¿En serio? Ingles: Genie: Here we are, in the last few turns of our chess game. This was too easy. (Genie makes his move on the board) Hansel: The battle isn’t over yet. Gretel: When will it be over? I’m bored. Hansel: Try to relax. I will win very soon. Genie: Ha! The senselessness! Hansel: You are a challenging opponent, it is true. But I know you feel nervous. I can hear your heart beating fast. Genie: But I’m not nervous… I think I’m having a heart attack! Gretel: What? Hansel, I think he’s fainting!
(Genie falls down) Hansel: What do we do? I’m not a surgeon! Gretel: We need to remain calm. I know a little about first aid. Maybe I can treat him. Hansel: Are you serious? You know how to put on a bandage. He needs intensive care! Gretel: Get your act together. I also know a little about natural medicine. Hansel: What, you mean what you learned from our grandma? Gretel: Yeah. She was a healer. Maybe this is an issue of imbalance in him or our environment. Hansel: You’re right, and I wish grandma was here right now. But she’s not, and you don’t know enough about natural medicine! You aren’t a healer. Let’s go to the emergency room. (Genie wakes up) Genie: What… what happened? Hansel: You fainted. Genie: Am I injured? Gretel: I don’t think so. Are you experiencing any discomfort? Genie: I feel dizzy… My head hurts…. Hansel: Wow, his head is hot. He has a high fever. Gretel: Do you have a cold? Genie: No…. I feel like my head is going to explode. Do you have a painkiller? Hansel: We need to take him to the doctor’s office. We don’t want him to get worse. Genie: My head is getting worse. (Genie’s head literally explodes) Hansel: …. What just happened? Gretel: Did you see that? I feel like I’m losing my sanity.
Hansel: Call the emergency room. He needs surgery! Gretel: Really? You think an operation is going to fix this? Hansel: We have to at least try. (Gretel picks up the phone to call the hospital. Fast forward to the waiting room…) Deberíamos ir a comprobar. Hansel: Sí, estoy de acuerdo. (Caminan a la habitación de Genie) (They walk to Genie’s room) Gretel: ¡Está vivo! Hansel: ¡Fantástico! (Hansel baila) Gretel: ¿Cómo volvieron a juntar su cabeza? Genio: me concedí un deseo Hansel: ¿Pero cómo? No tenías cabeza.
Ingles: Genie: *Unconscious* Gretel: I hope he is feeling better. I did not think that would happen. Hansel: Me too. When his head exploded I was so scared. I am happy we got to the hospital. Gretel: The nurse said he should wake up soon. We should go check. Hansel: Yes, I agree. (They walk to Genie’s room) Gretel: He’s alive! Hansel: Fantastic! (Hansel dances) Gretel: How did they put his head back together? Genie: I granted a wish for myself Hansel: But how? You had no head. How do you make a wish with no head? Gretel: That is a good question. I don’t think you can speak or think without a head. That doesn’t make sense Genie: I am a magical floating blue genie that lived in a lamp for ten thousand years and I grant wishes. Nothing makes sense Hansel: *pauses* Gretel: *pauses* Genie: Right Hansel: Touche (does this translate in Spanish lol?) Genie: I am forever indebted to you for saving my life. For this reason, I will grant you your three wishes. Your wish is my command Hansel: (Hansel burst out) I wish for a lollipop that never goes away! Gretel: Hansel stop! Genie: Strage...That is your first wish. (Poof) Hansel: (Hansel licks lollipop) What?
Gretel: Do not wish without me. We need to talk about what we want. Genie: Smart. You have two more wishes, use them wisely Hansel: That is a good idea. What do we want Gretel: I would like to go to EL Yunque National Forest. Hansel: (Puzzled look) Genie: EL Yunque? Gretel: Yes! I love the great outdoors. The forest is beautiful Hansel: We were just in a scary forest. Are you sure you want to go back to one? Genie: What makes this forest special? Gretel: It is a Tropical Rainforest in Puerto Rico. There are hundreds of animals and trees in the forest. Hansel: Will we see frogs and snakes? Genie: I want to see birds! Gretel: Yes, yes, and yes! There are frogs and birds who only live in El Yunque. Some of the animals and plants are poisonous so we have to be careful. Hansel: I want to go now! Genie we wish to go to El Yunque Genie: Your wish is my command. (A blue cloud of smoke surrounds the kids as they teleport to El Yunque)
