3 BLUE RIDGE B BULLETIN DECEMBER 2021 ISSUE COVID-19 EDITION -CIRCULAR 008 \"Gift-giving\" on a literal translation is the act of giving gifts voluntarily without expecting in return. It's not only comprised of tangible things but also intangible acts of love and kindness. Our holiday season for the past two years was filled with grief over the loss incurred due to the pandemic, but no matter the struggle, the kind nature of the people is especially strong in the season of giving. This year, the Margaretha Home for the Blind wanted to give their most heartfelt thanks to the Blue Ridge B community  for they have received more blessings in time of the holidays. Our dear HOA directors wanted to provide a significant act of charity. The HOA sourced out suppliers and got orders for the Christmas parols and the residents supported the project by ordering. Initially, there was an order for 50 pieces of parols and it went up to 160 for the first batch. The proceeds was given to the Margaretha Home for the Blind Girls & Young Women to support their basic living. The generosity of the community reached the hearts of these wonderful ladies and rest assured that they are praying for the well-being of everyone in Blue Ridge B.

6 BLUE RIDGE B BULLETINDECEMBER 2021 ISSUE COVID-19 EDITION -CIRCULAR 008 InternS testimony by Interns (October Batch) As a first timer, it was such a wonderful experience to have my internship journey here at the BRBHAI. The first weeks were really exciting but at the same time it made me feel anxious too, because I wasn’t sure how will I handle socializing within a new environment due to my shy personality. I can say that it was definitely a challenging experience for me but the BRBHAI family welcomed us wholeheartedly and I felt the warmth and joy that helped me boost my confidence to communicate and deliver my works efficiently. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to our ever compassionate and inspiring manager, Mr. Manuel Argel, for this opportunity and for being a great mentor in training us both in management and in trading before we take the next steps in the corporate world. To our directors, who have been a good role model, I am grateful for the complete trust and for being so gentle with our team. All the learnings and advices, I will surely keep this all in mind and will continue to work even harder in the future. - Laurefel Bolo As someone who lives far from the city of Manila, I never thought that 400 hours’ worth of virtual on-the-job training would be this meaningful. Indeed, saying yes and signing the non-disclosure agreement of BRBHAI internship was one of the right decisions I made this year. As my internship comes to an end and I reflect back on all I have learned, I realize what a beautiful experience this has been. Thankful for our manager, Mr. Manuel Argel, for his guidance, time and patience in training us to be ready to face the “corporate world”; and to all BRB HOA directors, for welcoming us, for being gentle and considerate to us. With such emphatic, compassionate and supportive mentors, my first ever internship will forever be memorable. I gathered much knowledge that exceeded my expectations, lessons I will bring everywhere I will go, and life stories I will look back when I need some motivation. - Viana Gabayno As I entered my senior year in college, my internship journey commenced. There were a lot of pressure as I go through this phase of my senior year. Among all my applications, I carefully considered pushing through my internship with BRBHAI. There was fear at first and doubts with myself at most times as this is the first internship that I will be rendering. But as we go through the course of our internship, I was not only able to accomplish tasks and projects but most importantly, I was able to grow as an individual and further honed my skills as both leader and a colleague. Our supervisor, Sir Manuel, also imparted various knowledge to us and even gave us the opportunity to observe meetings, conferences, and consultations which gave us an overview on how the corporate world goes. Working with Directors also enabled us to be proactive and develop ourselves to take initiative in handling team assignments. In all its sense, I’m very grateful to BRBHAI for making this experience meaningful and knowledgeable to us interns! – Bernard Beñales Having my OJT in BRB is definitely a new experience to me. I didn't know what to expect at first but as time goes by, I get the hang of it. It was a new experience and worthwhile one. It was hard but it was something I can bring as I carry on with my life. I get to experience and scratch the surface of working in the real world. I definitely learn a lot of things and hopefully I can gain more knowledge from the people in the community. Sir Argel, our mentor, is one of the kindest and patient person I've met. We are lucky to be under his guidance. I will definitely use his teachings in the future. - Louise Limbo “ God will open doors that you didn’t even know existed ” - Collected by your next door neighbor

7 BLUE RIDGE B BULLETINDECEMBER 2021 ISSUE COVID-19 EDITION -CIRCULAR 008 InternS testimony by Interns (October Batch) Growing up with a family business sure has its own perks that is not visible to every household and I admit how fortunate I am to have a different perspective in the world but there's so much more I have to learn. When I received information on the internship in BRBHAI, I immediately sent my resume and I'm glad I did because it was truly an opportunity of a lifetime. Our dear directors are considerate and they guided us wholeheartedly despite their busy lives. Our manager, went above and beyond to teach us what he could in all aspects of the corporate world and what we gained was indispensable knowledge in life. Sir Manuel told us jokingly, \"wag puro pambobola\" but flowery words could not even represent our great experience with the community, they deserve praise, they deserve recognition and us interns, past and present, will be forever grateful to Blue Ridge B. - Mellah Oandasan Being a student leader was a great advantage because I am familiar with some given tasks in Blue Ridge B. However, being a team leader in Blue Ridge B was challenging training. Sacrificing sleep is necessary to accomplish the tasks and balance academics; sometimes, I have side hustles. Despite the sleepless night, I am grateful to our manager, Mr. Manuel Argel, who provides several opportunities for all interns. He trained us to understand the stock market and learn new skills. He gives points in decision-making, presenting, and any business-related course. Before, I was very afraid of top-level management, but now our term is ending; I am proud to say that all our Directors are kind and appreciative of our work. Our internship does not end on financial or computation, but we are now very flexible from the task given by our dearest Directors. We are all beyond grateful to teaching, lesson, and learning that will be helpful not only in our career but also in our entire journey. - Princess C. Ornopia I always see myself challenging the unknown and believing in small beginnings. The internship with BRBHAI made me realize that if you want to attain something in life, you must take the initiative and believe in yourself. Expanding your social circles will do you good in the long run. Taking risks is better than having sleepless nights wondering the ifs. I am very grateful to Sir Manuel, the team, directors, and coordinators for their support, patience, and appreciation. BRBHAI will always have a place in my heart. - Pearly Bruno For a young adult navigating \"adulthood\" in the context of a pandemic, I view this internship with BRB as an opportunity for growth and expanding social circles. I am glad that I am able to meet the team and my fellow interns while at the same time work on tasks where I can apply my skills outside (virtual) classrooms. As a newbie in the team, I am looking forward to learn more from Sir Manuel, the team, directors and coordinators and nurture genuine friendships along the way! - Alex Llorente “ It’s not material things that give us a good life but real affection, respect, genuine love and friendship of people around us. “ - Collected by your next door neighbor

12 BLUE RIDGE B BULLETINDECEMBER 2021 ISSUE COVID-19 EDITION -CIRCULAR 008 POSITIVE THINKER LEARNING CENTER, INC. Disney within Reach! written by Jaymie Sadili - Tabason, Parent Positive Thinker Learning Center, Inc. (PTLC) has made it possible! Despite the limitations created by this pandemic, this first ever Disney-inspired preschool in the Philippines continues to offer an imaginative learning journey for little children. While most of us might have already been coping well to this new normal, the young ones might still be trying to get used to it. Toddlers' first school encounter usually involves parents dropping them off, teachers welcoming them and physically being there at school. Being schooled at home is entirely different and even for parents, this is new. Considering this, PTLC takes a more mindful approach to make learning a nourishing experience for them rather than a confining one. Directress Ina Estrada-Tulio, together with her faculty, has always aimed to adapt to the uniqueness of each child through individualized teaching. They believe each child is unique and deserves to learn at their own pace, based on their progress and not by their age nor even according to their peers. Still banking on their core expertise, that is, stimulating and encouraging children's imagination, they have realigned their objectives and strategies to make it suitable as we shift to this digital era. With a positive take on this \"virtually becoming reality\", they still want to continue educating children the best way they can. They want to witness children's magical moments whenever they realize their abilities and potentials regardless if it's just on-screen. May it be in a physical setting or online platform, Positive Thinker aspires to make children feel they are at their happiest place even while learning. One day, when everything is better and safer, we will see kids again, on their way to this school that happens to be just within our neighborhood.
