Florida Massage Convention and Trade Show 2013TechnologyTechnology Chair Annual Report –Committee Chair: Gregory H Neely, LMTThe Technology Chair was formed early on as Leiah Carr State President took office in 2012 at the Convention last year.It turned out to be an interesting start to reform as I went to the corporate office and did a review of all the Technologyin the office and made changes were appropriate. We terminated services with Dirgia Technologies where a savings of $450 per month to the association was realized. Wemoved web hosting to FATCOW which saved additional funding of webhosting to all the chapters at approximately a$100 per year.We upgraded the corporate office which now has WIFI service for anyone that visits the office from around the State ofFlorida. This is available to our members at no cost when going to Orlando. We found that our membership database is in serious need of an upgrade and to be modernized in the next fiscal year. The Board voted at the last Quarterly Board Meeting to fund this project at the very beginning of the fiscal year and thecontract has been awarded to Massage Clinic Professional a Daytona Beach Company which I am the CEO.Massage Clinic Professional programmers have donated over $100,000 in programming and services to the FSMTA in theform of creating and programming an integrated Convention website called www.myfsmta.org.Myfsmta.org includes:Front end – Advertising for ConventionRegister – Allowing members and non-members to register for ConventionLogin – Login area for attendees to make payments, pre-register for classes, download handouts, and pickup CECertificates after ConventionAdmin – Administration area where office staff can track/administer and manage eventsThe Executive Board has approved an overhaul of computer equipment at the corporate office which will bring staff up-to-date with the latest in technology. Allowing our staff to work more efficiently in the future, I plan on tackling thiseffort at the conclusion of Convention. At this point the FSMTA is very behind in its efforts to stay up with the latest in advertising, technology and theworkforce environment. In the next year, we plan on turning this around and making technology work for theassociation rather than against the association. It’s time to come out of the dark ages and open the FSMTA to new andbetter ways of managing its membership so it can grow and get stronger.Open up your world to Zen.Respectfully submittedGregory Neely, LMT
