Our mission is to engage in God’s transforming work: challenging the powerful, standing with the oppressed, lifting up the broken-hearted, and making God’s love and justice visible by welcoming and loving all. The Forward In Faith - Together In Mission Campaign reflects our mission. The Campaign will allow us to continue the great work of the church to enable us to uniquely preserve our historic downtown DC location, embodying Christ's words: “If anyone would be first, they must be last of all and servant of all”. Mark 9:35 Two Purposes, Two Pledges The first purpose of Forward In Faith - Together In Mission is to financially support the day- to-day ministries of the congregation in 2022. This is a one-year commitment and is of primary importance. Our annual support is about “doing ministry” day after day, week after week throughout the year. The second purpose is to make a capital financial commitment which will be over and above your annual stewardship support. Capital funding will pay down our debt on the newly installed, energy efficient HVAC system and allow us to initiate a restroom renovation project. You have the opportunity to spread your gift over a 3-year period in order to make the most significant contribution possible. The two purposes of this campaign will provide the financial support to fuel another chapter of our historic legacy! - Together In Mission o Purposes & Two Pledges Thank you for yours! 2 Capital Commitment The church's priority capital needs are a new and energy efficient HVAC system that will serve our church building for decades to come and renovation of the first and fifth floor restrooms. These renovations will contribute to our ongoing mission as a congregation to serve and be impactful in our community. Our capital goal is to raise $1.2M - $1.5M, or more, over the next 3 years. The initial $1M received will begin to pay down the loan taken to install the new HVAC system. Following this initial paydown of debt, the church can then initiate a restroom renovation project for the bathrooms on the first and fifth floors.
