With over 17 years experience in recruitment, fifteen of them being in Facilities Management Nicola has carved herself a name as \"Trusted Advisor\" in the FM sector. Nicola holds the position of Chair of Women in FM and Midlands Region for the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM). Nicola has been a volunteer for the Institute for the past eight years, arranging CPD Key Learning Events and Networking events across the UK to help FM professionals enhance their knowledge and progress in their career. CSR AND SOCIAL VALUE The team at Hexagon are passionate about giving back to the communities that they serve. They are dedicated volunteers of committees for the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management. Where they organise events for Women in FM and Midlands Regional Events which deliver CPD Training, Networking and Mentoring for the Facilities Management Sector. Our MD, Nicola Lathbury is the Chair for Women in FM and Midlands Region and we have been involved with volunteering for the sector for eight years. Helping people grow their confidence, knowledge and advance in their careers and push for best practice in the industry.

We are connectors. We use our standing in the industry and our contacts to connect businesses together to be a force for good. We bring together companies who are looking to help charities in the area and help link them to Corporate Partners so they can help continue the great work they do in their communities to help those less fortunate than ourselves. At the start of COVID, we helped secure grants for the charity and we utilised this to buy PPE and distribute it to other charities who were struggling to secure stock such as the Acorns Children’s Cancer Hospice. We delivered PPE and care packages for their staff who were trying to resume business as usual in the initial disruption when the pandemic originally hit.

Hexagon Group work with two local charities in the Midlands. Unite 4 Homeless and Community Relief Foundation. Unite 4 Homeless is a charity who offer a weekly hot meal and snacks in Birmingham City Centre each Sunday where service users are able to come along and enjoy a hot meal, support and signposting and pick up snacks and toiletries.

We also work with Community Relief Foundation which was originally set up to offer a monthly meal and social for the elderly and lonely in the local community. A way to bring them together for a social gathering with entertainment, company and good food to help relieve isolation. Many people living alone, often don’t see the value in cooking a large meal which seems a lot of fuss for one. Through this, we are able to offer them socialisation and sanctuary, whilst putting a hot meal in their belly. Through Covid, these events have not been able to take place and many people in the community have lost their jobs and source of income. So, we diversified and started putting together essential food boxes for families who are struggling to feed their children. As a business, we bought and sponsored the creation of 50 essential food boxes at Christmas which are distributed to families who are desperate and are unable to access other foodbanks and charities which require referrals.
