The class provides gentlestimulation which is perfect for sensorydevelopment and engages the sense ofsmell, sight and touch. It encourageschildren to learn something new thatmay contribute to maintaining acreative hobby. This activity is best done in a roomwith no carpet.  Different ceramicpieces range from 1 week to 8 weeksto make.

DANCE “It really gives her more confidence”Dance is a powerful ally for developing manyof the attributes of a growing child and helpschildren mature physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively.Dance is a good source of fun exercise forchildren, it can make them feel physicallyrefreshed and movement patterns andrepetition develop co-ordination andkinaesthetic memory. It improves the moodand confidence and is an outlet forimagination.Being part of a group activity, such aslearning a dance routine, promotes theimportance of teamwork and develops theability to work successfully in a groupenvironment. The process also helps a childlearn patience, listening and leadership skillsas they start to help each other with learningand practising the steps. After 6 weeks the group would be able toperform a dance routine. For groups aged 14years+ we can facilitate anOCN Level 1 Award in Exploring DanceMovements

DRAMA “It helps her with her performing arts GCSE”Drama brings elements of play, humour, and laughter to those takingpart. It improves motivation andreduces stress while developing theability and skills to be able to focusthe mind, the body and the voice.Aspects of drama, especiallyimprovisation, help young people tounderstand how to appraisesituations, think outside the box andbe more confident going intounfamiliar situations. It improvesverbal and nonverbal communication, listening, observation skills andmemory.Drama games allow young people toexpress a range of emotions andencourage them to understand anddeal with similar feelings they may beexperiencing. The class aims to let kids use theirimagination through fun, structuredand unstructured activities.

DIGITAL MUSIC \"It is refreshing to see such an initiative in the area which greatly enhances the lives of local young people and helps develop skills\"Creativity is the ability to think outsidethe proverbial box, to string twounrelated ideas together in a new way.In this activity we use iPads to introduceyoung people to music and musicproduction through apps, for instanceGarage Band whose music creationsystem enables users to create multipletracks with pre-made MIDI keyboards,pre-made loops, an array of variousinstrumental effects, and voicerecordings. It can inspire an interest in learning aninstrument which can be followedthrough even with a Garage Band digitaltutor! This can work as one off workshop or alonger programme. The children canwork on an individual piece or perhapscompose a song for the school?

STOP MOTION ANIMATION AND CLAYMATION “Glasgowbury is an asset to our community. It offers a unique accessible service at a very affordable level, very friendly and welcoming environment”Stop Motion Animation is an excellent wayfor young children to begin to explore theworld of movie making, help to buildessential thinking and communication skillswhile improving motor skills, concentrationand hand eye co-ordination.It is a process where a series of picturestaken with a stills or video camera, ofinanimate objects, one frame at a time andthen the object is painstakingly moved insmall increments so that when theseindividual shot frames are viewedsequentially a simulation of continuousmovement is observed.Stop motion animation can be very simpleto extremely complex. We use stop motionapps on ipads. We use clay models as theseare relatively easy for children to make andthey are easy to move into position.

OTHER DIGITAL WORKSHOPS “The tutors were focused and sensitive to the needs of the young people”These can be facilitated using iPadsand themes linked to popularcharacters (eg. Harry Potter Wandbattle, making a moving newspaperor superheroes) There may be asmall charge for downloading theapps needed for this. Theres arenormally 2/3 hour workshops and a6/8 week programme couldincorporate a few of the workshops.

INSTUMENT LESSONS “It is more than just learning notes and songs”We can provide music lessons inGuitar and bodhran if pupilshave the instruments. In our ownpractice we keep a 1:4teacher/pupil ratio in order forkids to get a more valuablelearning experience.

\"Small But Massive creative outreach provides access and participationto young people who have little or no opportunity to take part in creative activity. \" With arts provision shrinking in our mainstream schools, more and more parents are looking for quality creative opportunities for their children. A child who has the opportunity to take part in creative activity becomes more interesting, expressive and motivated. Glasgowbury is a multi award winning organisation for our annual music festival (2000 – 2013) and our Rural Key Music and Multi Media programme (2003 – present) and aims to provide activities to a professional standard with a diligent approach. Glasgowbury, has over the last few years developed a range of long term creative programmes at our HQ in Draperstown where over 200 young people take part every week, learning new skills, growing in confidence, meeting new friends, getting opportunities for performances, having fun! We developed the Outreach programme to further meet our charitable purposes by providing access for other young people in rural areas who have little or no access to creative activity. Our access progression programmes at HQ provide further opportunity for social and creative development should the outreach programme spark an interest in any of the young people. .

Capacity In order to comply with our safe guarding policy and legislation, classes over 10 childrenrequire 2 adults to manage the class needs and for some activities to practically help out. 20 would tend to the maximum capacity. If there are a number of children participating who are on the autistic spectrum or other learning/social needs, and who will require extra help or attention then extra assistance may be required even if the numbers are under 10. We are happy to start classes and let groups/schools know if any issues arise.Pottery classes are limited to 8 due to the intricacies of the activity and the amount of 1:1 time needed while working on the ceramic piece. The preferred age for workshops is age 8 and over. Dance can take from age 4years however not in the same class as age 8+. Costs We aim to keep the costs affordable to enable participation in the arts and creative industries and will talk to groups/schools about their available budget and workshop packages. Outreach is part of our social enterprise to raise funds to keep the doors open to creativity but it is not a very profitable activity for Glasgowbury as we realise that schools have limited budgets and ultimately it’s the access that matters. We can provide a quote followed by discussion as needed.  We are aware that groups/schools can sometimes apply for funding for activities and in this case we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss budgets and funding. Facilitation Facilitation is priced per hour of activity and school/centre location and goes directly to the £facilitator. The cost for delivery within a 15 mile radius of Draperstown is 30ph, 15 – 20 mile £ £radius 40, 20 – 30 mile radius 50Some activities require working time and preparation outside of the classroom eg pottery and a cost is added on for this. We are happy to discuss any idea you have yourself and arrange facilitation if possible.

Assistants For some activities (percussion, film making, stop motion) an experienced assistant is needed to practically help deliver the activity for classes over 10 participants and Glasgowbury can£provide this second assistant at an extra charge of 15 per session. For other activities a class supervisor provided by the school/group is sufficient.   All Glasgowbury facilitators are self employed. They are Access NI checked and have attended safe guarding training. They have also attended 'Teaching and Learning for Creative Professionals\" training. Glasgowbury are a registered OCN NI Training Centre and can offer some accredited workshops (age 14+) Equipment/Instruments/Materials Hire fee for equipment and instruments (ipads/percussion) varies and helps towards time needed preparing and packing the instruments/equipment before and after a work shop as well as breakages and ear plugs for percussion workshops. Extra costs for ceramics covers clay and glazing, and 2 x 24hr kiln firings per piece. These costs are worked out on an individual basis depending on size of group and what the needs are. Travel Travel costs are based on 45p per mile. Facilitators may not be travelling from our base in Draperstown but are in the Mid Ulster Region and travel costs are priced depending on their overall mileage. Admin Admin Fee is 15%
