A GUIDE TO ASKEW ROAD Formerly known as Gaggle Goose Green, Askew Road is nestled in the heart of W12, linking two routes into London from the west – Uxbridge Road and Goldhawk Road. Situated between Shepherd’s Bush and Chiswick, the area has changed dramatically over the past decade and, where once there were shabby shopping parades, there are now bustling high streets boasting smart boutiques, pavement cafés and bistros. Indeed, Askew Road now holds the charm of a local village with the beautiful green spaces of Acton Park, Wendle Park and Ravenscourt Park, whilst being easily connected to central London. The area is traditionally working class but in recent years we have seen more wealthy city workers move to the area, attracted by the beautiful architecture, excellent transport links and great local schools. This mix of backgrounds is evident on Askew Road itself, with hotspots such as Ginger Pig, Detour Café and Askewines. Askew Road and the surrounding area is also littered with excellent pubs, including The Eagle, The Orchard Tavern and The Oak W12. Victorian and Georgian properties are found here. Riverside properties are extremely sought-after. Taking fundraising to new heights. MOVING PARTNERSHIPS Our approach to supporting the community and other charitable organisations sees our staff involved in large- scale fundraising events for a variety of charities throughout London and internationally. We proudly support international aid organisation Health Poverty Action, which works to help poor and marginalised people. Staff take part in gruelling challenges to raise money for this and other charities which often include activities like skydiving, running the London Marathon, abseiling down the O2, and even taking on mountain climbs on Kilimanjaro. Local teams also take part in fun runs, bake sales and neighbourhood get-togethers to raise money for both local and London-wide charities throughout the year. Partners include south-west London’s Trinity Hospice and St. Mungo’s homeless charity and housing association. Each December, we rally to collect clothing, toiletries and food for Crisis at Christmas for those less fortunate over the winter months. Supporting worthy causes one cupcake at a time.
